There was legit fear from several guys on St John’s. Lots of dickfingering and visible shakiness when Quaintance was around. How many deflections did he have? Answer: A LOT.

Didn’t expect that twitchiness at all to get out of the gate.

All timer debut
When Lowe and JQ first played together around the first TV timeout in 2nd half, St. John's stopped scoring. JQ completely disrupted their offensive sets.

Wow was that a needed Dub.
We are a different team with Lowe and JQ on the floor. Still can't shoot a lick, but we can grind.
Concerning what has happened to Jelavic.
Is he injured or did he hook up with one of Pope's daughters?

Raf and Pearl are the commentating duo America deserves.
Throw in Pitino, and this might the three guys in basketball I would most like to go to a strip club with. Bring it.

Life is better when the Wildcats win.

Some quick thoughts:

* After the health of Lowe and JQ, Kam Williams' ability to develop into a legit SEC starter caliber small forward might be the most important question to be answered going forward. If he plays like that and shoots 40% from 3P in the SEC, things will look a lot sunnier all around.

* I like Colin Chandler. I like Colin a lot more as a combo guard off the bench than I do as a starter. I have similar feelings toward Moreno. Moreno is at his best as a help defender next to an unmovable fire hydrant like Mo or JQ.

* I want to see us start Lowe, OO, Williams, Mo, and JQ with (in order) reserves Chandler, Moreno, Aberdeen, and Garrison. Garrison and Moreno can swap out by match up, as can Chandler and Aberdeen.

Let's ride a 7.5 man rotation.

* Jasper could really use some guidance from a guy like Lamont Butler. My man looks like he keeps trying to double down on the hero ball that worked in high school and it keeps working less and less as teams get tape and he faces more talent.

Lamont could also show Jasper where the weight room is, too, as Jasper clearly has not yet darkened its door during his time at UK.

* Kind of concerning that Pope has not been able to generate any kind of offense without an elite PG, tbh. Jimmies and Joes are more important than Xs and Os but coaching matters in college basketball.

My dude needs to be improving his performance as much as the players, imo. A lot of people got real, real high on the hype pipe this offseason and it shows.

The second half was a great start, especially given the coach on the other bench.

Went to game, catching up.

My gosh, I had low / slow expectations for JQ but the term "game-changer" is the best possible adjective for him.

I mean, Zuby is a groan man, but when JQ was on him, it looked like a fuller groan man guarding a teenager.

And overall he looked like a man playing with boys. I could not believe how much he changed the entire dynamic.

Great, gutsy performance by Lowe, and hopefully Kam has arrived. He was not afraid to scrap with those mf Yankee thugs, plus he hit big shots and FTs.

Also need to credit BG, he has responded well to the benching.

Met Raff at a wedding right after Seton Hall lost to Michigan. Regaled us young guys with stories while throwing em back. Good dude.

Chandler Is never in position to take an uncontested shot.

Point guard helps all.

Indulge me in shifting gears a bit, given that the playoffs are on and I’m now in a football mood. Haven’t seen a lot of discussion about our coordinator hires.

The A&M guy seems legit. Was that a home run for us? His guys looked foolish on that go ahead TD for Miami today, but obviously his body of work is solid. How do we feel about this hire? Any reason not to be really excited?

Don’t know much about the LSU OC, other than they were a train wreck this year. Will is turning over playcalling duties to him, which makes me a bit nervous. I presume they coached together at UTSA or have some other prior employment connection. Thoughts on this Cat? I guess if the bottom falls out, CWS can just take over playcalling duties.

Went to game with my son who now lives in ATL.

Very strange explaining to him / reliving that offense used to be Pitino's calling card (along with the press) but he has morphed into a grind-it-out, defense-first coach.

Hell of an effort to out-tough his bunch for most of the game.

My son and I are now 2-0 in ATL games since he moved here, the other being Duke last year. Both times a 2H comeback as an underdog. HFY. Giddy.

Surprising number of St J fans here. Still likely less than 1,000, but more than I expected.

Fair amount of UNC fans but probably all of them live here because we know they don't travel.

And then the Packers promptly gift wrap the win for the Bears, tonight. What an absolute choke job. after dominating most of the game. What a gut punch, AND now the Packers lose their starting QB in the mix. I've never seen a team this snake bit by injuries in one season. Historic.

That coach pisses away points on a regular basis. It's like he thinks they have an infinite supply of them.

I’d hardly call it disappointing. I’ve never watched a volleyball match in my life

Can we expect Lowe’s shoulder to pop in and out all season? Is it something that they can pop back in and he’s ready to go once the pain subsides? How long was he in the locker room before he came back in the game?

crazy how so much of our season has depended on a shoulder the last two seasons

  • Meh. Volleyball school my ***. I blame Mitch.
  • Cooked a pro-level Porchetta for family Christmas party. Spritzed belly with Amaro prior to rolling. Made a huge difference.
  • Also perfected a family recipe for ricotta cheesecake. Those hand-me-down unwritten granny recipes don’t go deep into technique, which I have honed. Must temper all ingredients, fold in eggs and yolks super slow.
  • sad that my lil guy doesn’t believe in Santa anymore. Magic is gone.
  • 4 Charles Prime Rib reservations in 2 weeks. Should be decent 😃.
  • Derrick Gee is the coolest Asian Australian mfer out there. Dig his deep cuts.

One of the grossest surfaces in the world must be the concrete area around a gas pump. Construction workers like brax dumping out their spit cups, dried up hockers of all shades of brown and yellow, empty yellow jacket wrappers, the occasional used condom. Just vile, and I’ve considered ordering some of those little disposable elastic socks service men put on their boots before entering my home. Keep them in my vehicle, put them on before stepping out, and then throw them out the window as I pull out.

Speaking of gas stations, I harken back to the days of my youth, when there were still a few traditional, full service gas stations around town. I felt like a little king when my mom would pull her vehicle in to one of those places, and a well groomed, young white person would fill the tank, wash the windows, check all fluid levels, collect your cash and an appropriate tip, and then you’re on your way, without ever having to set foot outside the vehicle. If mom was feeling generous, she’d ask the fellow to fetch me a Coke and a candy bar. Another reminder that we now live in a **** world.

Kooky, ever think your family might appreciate it if you didn’t cook like a goddam*ed dago wop all the time?
