I have 0 idea on what to expect today. You kind of lose your feel for the team after an 11 day layoff. I still think that our best identity is one of a tough, physical team that grinds. The team we saw in both 2nd halves of the IU and SJU games. We’re not winning a shootout with Alabama. We have to find a way to slow them down to win. GO CATS!!!

Our complete and utter lack of any 3 point threat is our undoing. Pope of all people not having a couple snipers is unbelievable. It would be like Oats only having one shooter. Offense just can’t open up.
We just don’t get any good looks on offense. Nothing easy going to the basket and nothing run to get an open look from 3. We are broken on both sides of the ball.
Also, something that I am more than tired of is how we are always down double digits in all of these “big” games. I know we have had a few comeback wins but they are few and far between

You just absolutely have get buckets against Bama, they are almost impossible to slow down. This is probably going to get ugly. They blasted us pretty good twice last year.
There is no aspect of the game this team does competently.
It’s literally because we have no 3 point threats. Theres no offense to run without a perimeter threat. We’ve also missed 80% of our open 3 point threats so there’s no reason to stretch the defense. It’s insane we did t recruit more shooter, just a really horrid roster construction.
Another game against a good opponent, another no show, another embarrassing blow out. Well beyond the point of being acceptable. What's Pope's buyout?

This is a redux of Gonzaga. We have been in too many games like this under Pope. I wanted it to work. I really did but he is either too green or surrounded himself with a bunch of guys who cannot evaluate basketball talent properly.
How does a man who claims to want to shoot 30 3's a game have zero shooters? How do you get caught with 1 viable pg on the roster? How does an offensive genius have a team that can't run a simple play?
This is uneffen acceptable. These games should be once in 5 years occurrence not once every 5 games. Im tired of this crap.
Maybe this works out eventually but right now its looking like Mitch has muffed 2 basketball hires since he has been here.

That said, Jesus Christ this team shoots all 3’s and layups. If the strategy isn’t stay to your man no matter how bad your teammate is beat then we are stupid.
Yes we want to run them off the line and sometimes that’s pushing them to the rim for layups which is better than 3’s. So do not help because that allows for bad rotations and open shooters, and yes they will find them when they’re open.
I don’t care how hard a certain matchup seems it’s still just basketball and a team that has 88% of its shots being 3’s and layups shouldn’t be that hard to defend.
Still I know after the game I’ll hear Pope say “they do such a good job in putting pressure on a defense and opening up what they want”..
