Has anyone heard if the Dawg Pound Party is happening again in Jacksonville?

It seemed like it went well last time, but I wasn't there. I had a few friends that attended, and they said it was fun.

It was awesome. I don't know what this guy is used to, but I thought it was huge. There were several different areas to party in and they probably could've used a couple more bars but that was only an issue whenever the bars first began serving (swarm!). Really nice place.. It was an old train station, I think. I haven't found anything about it being open again this year, though.

worst party ever. long drink lines. with the coke to whiskey ratio in a drink of at least 100 to 1

I wouldn't recommended it, thats just a personal preference though.

Imagine all the frats at State got together and rented out the Hunt Club (assuming its still there?) then charged $100....would you go?

You were better off drinking beer because they used those 1 shot measures to pour mixed drinks. And once you got your beer you had to walk to the back of the line because it'd be gone by the time you got up to the front aGAIN. There were a lot of people there though and I enjoyed hanging out with them. That's about the only positive though.

I'm guessing it was ok for colege age to maybe under 25? The people I talked to that went generally didn't like it. Basically all said it took too long to get a drink. But that was people over 25 and I'm guessing maybe people used to being crammed in college bars thought it was worth it.

I will NOT be attending another one of these. I was almost sober at midnight for the countdowm. Drink lines were too long and drinks were cheap and not strong. Plus, there were 100's of 18-21 year olds there to stand in our way of being awesome.

I'll have to "party with the Ed Hardy" this time.

Were you at the same **** I was? That was the worst party ever. I spent the whole time, like everyone else, in line. Eventually we just started asking for whiskey on ice and shot it. The organizers' (all Ole Miss grads) goal was to make sure as little alcohol as possible was consumed, since everyone had already paid an outrageous fixed price.

I was 22 at the time, so that could the difference maker. There were two bars in a dance room that hardly anyone was in, so I got my drinks there with minimal effort. My only complaint was there not being enough taxis available afterwards. We waited forever on a ride. Above all, I thought it was nice being able to go out without being crammed up in a closest-sized Cotton District bar for a change.

They also had a finger foods buffet, nothing special, but I dominated it.

Not Worth It

...Went for literally like five mins. My buddy and I jumped the rope so we didnt have to pay that ridiculous amount to get in and we walked around a second, use the porta potty and left. Couldnt get a drink was super lame compared to the landing so we just didnt worry about it. Best part of being there my friends got a picture, and drunk danced, with Wayne Madkin.

I had one of the best nights of my life at Mavericks. It's a corny bar in a giant strip mall (It is sad folks have to go to The Landing to have a good time in Jacksonville.), but we went to Mavericks after the game, and it is was absolutely awesome. Perhaps it was due to us having just beaten the **** out of Michigan and everyone I knew being there, but that place got wild as hell. I'm talking about Saddawg-type wild.

We stayed in downtown Jacksonville for one night last time and in Jacksonville Beach the last two nights. We went out all three nights and by far had more fun down on the beach area. We went to the landing and it was okay, but I think that was probably a night before everyone else got there. You can stay at any hotel in Jacksonville Beach and be within walking distance of at least 5 bars and many eating establishments. We had a blast last time and are staying on the beach again. We wont have to drive anywhere except to the game from our hotel. All of the bars were fun, drinks were made right, and lots of hot women.
