I've sent out requests to a few people in the Ath Dept about maybe getting 1or2 of these helmets.......... as of now, to no avail... wonder what gives?

From experience in getting a real MSU helmet for someone's birthday gift. They claim that each helmet costs over $600.

I think so, too, but apparently our Administration is sold on a whole bunch of stripes on the uniforms, except on special occasions like this.

I've grown to somewhat like our unis. The stripe doesn't bother me as much as it did on the mannequin. Probably because most players don't wear the undershirt with the stripe like A&M has been. I think their double stripes look terrible. Just wish we could ditch the helmet stripe and go plain like theirs.

They could honor him this Saturday like they do the big donors, and instead of giving him a chrome cowbell, hand him a helmet. Just an idea

I also mentioned about maybe gettin a couple of passes for me & my son (if its possible). I feel awkward asking but I havent heard anything back from them. Obviously, they dont HAVE to do anything but I honestly didnt think it was that tall of an order. oh well...

Although white, that helmet is not croominiscient.

Awesome. These should be our road unis.

It is Stricklin's goal to better brand ourself, claim the state, and differentiate ourselves from other in-state schools. I don't see us getting away for our regular logo for half of our games and I have to agree with Strick on that.

Saw the helmet tonight at qb club. It looks great in person as well. I completely Missed where they were not stickers - those bad boys are laser etched. I still think it would be an awesome looking helmet in maroon w the silver bulldog.

That does help paint a clearer picture. I think if it was on a maroon helmet, the bulldog would probably have to have a white outline instead of silver. I feel like Silver would be a bit too hard to make out. Overall... I think it would be cool.

i like it, a powder matte black facemask and the matte helmet look good, maybe a grey bulldawg to help it stand out more

I don't think the bulldog shines enought ...maybe we should do like what Oregon does with those wings ...metallic silver outline of the dawg and faskmask with black chinstrap on the matte maroon

I love this helmet...

I would have liked to have seen a white facemask with it, but over all I am pleased with it. Good Job Chill

As much as I like that maroon helmet in the matte finish, I think it would look outstanding if the helmet itself was the liquid, metallic look. Those liquid looking helmets just look sick to me. Not sure how it would match the uniforms though.

Def like the carbonized steel look of the one on the right. Would add some subtle "texture" onto the background, darkening it a bit more. Perhaps small black paw-prints or small bulldogs or small "interlocking MSU logos, as circa 1981 or so. For that matter, you could simply cover the base background with dozens of small, black current "M-State" logos.

Now that I think of it, what I think would look bad-*** is the carbon-steel look just as you have it, incluidng the maroon logo, but add to it a ferocious-looking snarling bulldog whose head come to the front, jaws gaping at the facemask, body partially obscured by the M-State logo, but clearly visible over the top and back of the logo.

Straight up. Posted back in 12/2010 when we were discussing helmet ideas for the Gator Bowl. But I'm just an idea guy. Have no artistic ability whatsoever.

Chill can you do a full maroon uniform with the same two colors used on the helmet with the numbers and lettering and stripes in the lighter maroon and with that helmet? If we are going to do one game a year with the pink for breast cancer awareness (Tennessee game) this might be the full look for it. Might be stupid might not be

Think this would look good if you added black grids to the background over the silver & under the logo. Something that would look a lot like those Oregon & TCU helmets that did something similar. Give the base color more of a "carbonized steel" look rather than silver.

I like the retro uniform- heck, I've even suggested that we go that direction for homecoming with the uniforms from 1969 with the flying-M helmet, but I can't see NIKE and Adidas getting along with us wanting to do that.
