Dear Sixpackers!
</SPAN>
On Saturday, football fans saw an incredible turn of events on the national scene. That pansy style of football that is played in the Northwest is great for blowing subpar teams out of the water by halftime, but when a team that is built to hit people straight in the mouth comes into Eugene, a different experience is felt by the Nike Ducks. It’s one of shock and horror. One that can’t fathom victory no matter how close the score. One that will feel pain on Sunday. And that’s what the Stanford Cardinal did to the Oregon Ducks in their backyard.
</SPAN>
And what about those dreamers from Kansas State who once again under Bill Snyder show that they can play football at a high level most of the time, but when at the top, it’s not so easy to handle success. This was true in Snyder’s previous reign as head coach. History has a tendency to repeat itself. When K-State gets the national spotlight, a big can of sphincter tightening incurs resulting in a 1-5 Big 12 opponent rolling you like Manumana “The Slender” in Necessary Roughness.</SPAN>

The lesson, my fellow sixpack fans, is simple. Not every team is equipped to handle the pressure that comes with being the cream. This was so true on Saturday in what the college football nation experienced.
</SPAN>
In a weekend, when the best conference in the land didn’t have nearly the marquee matchups that we have come to enjoy the past several weeks, the events that took place Saturday night rivaled surprises ranked up there with Hulk Hogan body slamming Andre the Giant, the New Orleans Saints winning the Super Bowl, or getting the final restaurant bill after offering to pay for a meal in which the General partook. Suffice it to say, these outcomes were exciting and shocking, but the cream always finds a way to rise to the top Come January 2013, you will see an SEC team peak as the Cream of the Nation and not just the Stallion Cream Rankings. </SPAN>

The Cream rankings for Week 12 are:

#1) </SPAN>Alabama Crimson Tide</SPAN> – How lucky can one fan base be. Just when the Tea Bagger gets 10 months jail time and way too much media coverage, and the rest of the fan base felt closure of the jaws of defeat, Surprise Saturday comes one week later thrusting Big Al back into the national spotlight as a BCS championship contender

#2) </SPAN>Georgia Bulldogs </SPAN>– Keeps rolling along as they prepare to face Saban’s boys on Dec. 1[SUP]st[/SUP].

#3) </SPAN>LSU Tigers</SPAN> – “Wow what a game!” The Legend of the Hat lives on!</SPAN>

#4) </SPAN>Texas A&M</SPAN> – College Station is now harvesting its sickening arrogance as Johnny Football changes his name to Johnny Zendejas. He looks like a kicker in stature….why not?</SPAN>

#5) </SPAN>Florida Gators </SPAN>– You would have thought Florida would come out offensively with much more inspiration after their near defeat by the hands of the Cajuns. Not the case.

#6) </SPAN>South Carolina Gamecocks </SPAN>– The Lattimore loss is in full effect.

#7) Vanderbilt Commodores</SPAN> – Franklin’s salary is going up as fast as the national deficit.

#8) </SPAN>Mississippi State Bulldogs </SPAN>– Strong bounce back after the three game slide. So why the nerves come Egg Bowl time?
</SPAN>
#9) </SPAN>Ole Miss Rebels</SPAN> – Valiant effort by Mr. Freeze. Dumb coaching decision by attempting a 55-yard field goal to give the Tigers great field position. Did the Aggie game not teach you anything, Hugh?

#10) </SPAN>Arkansas Razorbacks</SPAN> – Who cares anymore?

#11) </SPAN>Missouri Tigers </SPAN>– Mizzou, when you play Big East opponents and a bowl game is on the line, please represent our conference with dignity by spanking that tail.
</SPAN>
#12) </SPAN>Tennessee Vols</SPAN> – Hey Sixpack, still think Tennessee is a quality opponent? Say goodbye to the pants.
</SPAN>
#13) </SPAN>Kentucky Wildcats </SPAN>– Samford is no match for the mighty Jokerless Cats.

#14) </SPAN>Auburn Tigers</SPAN> – Chizik, you drop the A&M from Alabama and get the W, then we will move you up the rankings and salvage that job. Win it for the Stallion!!!</SPAN>

HOT BOUDIN – Vanderbilt Commodores - Not so much that the Stallion didn’t think they were going to win the game over Dooley’s boys. But the way they are consistently doing it and trying to convince the non-believers that Vandy is a formidable representative of the SEC. Way to go out and take care of biz against your in-state “rival”. </SPAN>

COLD COOSH COOSH – Tennessee – Dooley lost his team, the fan base, and now his job. There’s always life after Knoxville. Can I get you a good real estate agent in Hattiesburg?

Love,
Stallion</SPAN>

LSU needs to be sixth behind South Carolina. Anyone SEC school who lets a Division 1-AA team take you to the wire doesn't deserve to move up.

Agree for the most part. I still think State should be above Vandy, though. Don't understand that one really. If in doubt, go to the records. And it's safe to say that Tennessee had quit well before Saturday. Still a big win by Vandy, but I doubt that would have been the score if that game were played 5 weeks ago. Either way, not bad.

A tad of "homerism" appears (not the great epic Homer) and no way DD ends up in Hattiesburg...they can't pay the light bill.

There is zero argument (yet) for Vandy above us at this point in time. Vandy lost to Northwestern. State has lost to 3 top 8 teams.

If OM beats us, then the argument, is obviously there.

So 8-3 MSU is on a tier with 5-6 OM? What am I missing here? I'm not trying to be a homer, but damn, that doesn't make much sense to me.

I think that UM and MSU are pretty close (~7) on neutral field... same w/ Vandy... I think all of those schools are significantly better than the last tier (Ark, MO, UT, UK & AU) and would be a 'dog by ~10+ points to tier #2 (UF, A&M, SC)...

I would trade one of our OOC teams for a top 20 to have an SEC east schedule this year instead of the west. Having TN, Mizzou, Kentucky on the schedule and play UM from the west? Sigh that deal up.

You may think the East bottom was poor, but Auburn and Arkansas are about as bad. I agree with you that there are 3 teams that are poor versus two in the east. But MSU got to play the two worst teams by far in the East in Kentucky and Tennessee. MSU schedule is as easy if not easier than Vandy in 2012, my friend.

Don't have any basis for DD in Hattiesburg...

A tad of "homerism" appears (not the great epic Homer) and no way DD ends up in Hattiesburg...they can't pay the light bill.

But I think that would be a helluva pick up for the Buzzards, and a great building ground for Dooley to redeem his career.

Well they played Auburn too. I'm not arguing something as petty as someone's ranking of MSU, but I, any anyone rational, would trade this years Vandy schedule with MSU's.

They played Auburn and UM from the west which is like a west team playing Mizzou and Vandy in the same year. Then throw in a weak TN, awful Kentucky, Georgia who is weaker than Alabama, Florida who is weaker than LSU, and USCe who is weaker than aTm, and sprinkle in a couple OOCs, and you have a schedule I would have rather than MSU's

Prairiedawg, yes at this point, I have A&M at 4th.

nothing new here.

LSU gave the blue print on how to slow down J.Football. Every good defense that has played the Aggies have figured out how to stop him/slow him down once the initial shock was taken. A&M is a good team, but they aren't the best team in the SEC. Bama, LSU, and potentially UF (if that offense could score), would have the same impact defensively that they did in the 2nd half.

I don't understand why that's so hard to see. Just b/c the Aggies came into Starkville and made mincemeat of that Bulldog defense, doesn't suggest that they should be No. 1 in the country or even better than LSU and Bama. LSU offensively has found its way and Mettenberger has come on. I don't know why LSU's defense stunk up the joint against Ole Miss but I'd take the Tigers over A&M. Keep in mind LSU beat A&M without a passing game in College Station.

I think it's too damn close to argue and I agree...does it really matter. My main reason for dropping State is that they weren't competitive against Bama or A&M and really I think LSU had that game in complete control in Baton Rouge, too (know State fans are delusional about that though). Vandy was competitive against South Carolina (should have beaten them), played UF very competitively until the middle of the 4th, and of course UGA trounced them. They did lose to Northwestern in Chicago but Northwestern is a solid team (no cupcake). I think it would be a helluva game. However, if you ask me who the better coach is between the two teams, I would take Franklin all day in that one.

It would be a great pick up for them, but don't know if they have enough money to get rid of EJ..much less pay for DD at this point. DD will probably resurface at a later date unless he does what his daddy thought he should have done...practice law in Atlanta.

DD won't have the same starting salary demands though, either...

Did Fedora have a buyout when he accepted the UNC job?

Here is the million dollar question.... Would they have played UGA, Fl, and USC as well if they were on consecutive weekends? I very much doubt it.

don't know.....don't follow USM...just was aware that they have financial problems of some sort. The conference they're in seems to be continually falling apart and don't think DD would be interested in instability...maybe he should return to LA Tech...if Sonny Dykes leaves.

I have no problem with the rankings other than...

UGA is ranked too high in your poll and in the national polls, they are a solid team, but not great. I think A&M, LSU, Bama and if UF could score in the red zone are all better than UGA. Honestly, I would like our match up with them if we played them in Starkville. Vandy is solid and at this point, we are very similar.

I would love to have played Fla over the last month. Yes, they have a legit D

but that offense is pathetic. We would beat them at home and neutral field probably lose a close one in the swamp. I think us an SCe would be another helluva matchup, just as it was last year. In which it took a last minute TD grab from Alshon, who is no longer with the Cocks.

Stallion hasnt been on the Gators wagon all year and took a beatdown for it earlier. Florida really never had much of an offense. They caught LSU at the lowest of the year offensively and had a ton of TOs against USCe. They are too one dimensional but defensively can keep games close like LSU.

So, give me the definition of this "cream theory" again? A&M has improved since your meeting in BR, and no I'm not basing that on the turd our defense laid in Starkville against them, they just beat the #1 team in the country impressively. You just pulled one out of your *** against a lower tier team. But that's ok, just my opinion, you have yours albeit tainted in purple and gold.

Flip us with the Swamp Kitties and make it 2 and 2a with us and UGA and you have it right... The way Florida and LSU are playing right now we would beat both of them if we played again.

Prairiedawg, if the Stallion has LSU at 7, you are going to ask him,

So, give me the definition of this "cream theory" again? A&M has improved since your meeting in BR, and no I'm not basing that on the turd our defense laid in Starkville against them, they just beat the #1 team in the country impressively. You just pulled one out of your *** against a lower tier team. But that's ok, just my opinion, you have yours albeit tainted in purple and gold.

...why isn't LSU in 9th place. So there is no winning with you. LSU offensively is much improved than when they played A&M as well. YOu can't look at this one-sided. Ole Miss as you recall was one bad 4th down call from beating A&M, and really should have beaten them. A&M played out of their minds against Bama in the 1st quarter. By far their most complete game defensively. However, the Aggie defense is more susceptible to giving up a ton of points a la the La Tech game and I don't think they could contain LSU right now. LSU offensively is helluva lot better than they were. The Tiger defense would be ready to slam Manziel just like they did in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters in College Station. Don't let one game skew your opinion of how powerful a team is. The Aggies are good, but not great.

Flip us with the Swamp Kitties and make it 2 and 2a with us and UGA and you have it right... The way Florida and LSU are playing right now we would beat both of them if we played again.

As I told Prairiedawg, LSU has the blueprint in shutting down A&M's offense. They would do it again. LSU has been playing well up until Saturday. Defense didn't show up. I guarantee LSU would show up against that Aggie team if played again. Keep in mind they went into your house in College Station and beat down Manziel in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarter. Every good defense has figured out A&M this year after the initial shock that Johnny Football and Co. puts on their opponents. I'm not sure if you guys get by Florida's defense still and I do think Bama would beat you again if the game was played. A&M got way up on Bama and the Tide couldn't overcome the deficit unlike the Gators and the Tigers. Tigers offensively are playing much better and Mettenberger's confidence has grown. We beat that Aggie team playing one-dimensional offensively with no OL to speak of. I'm confident LSU would beat them again.

The 'cream theory' is nothing more than 'The standings will reflect the best teams at the end of the season'. Thats it, literally. It's not a theory because it's the only possible outcome. He uses it to proclaim knowledge when in reality if he was brilliant he would post the final standings in August and defend them throughout the season when we finally see the light in late November. Real knowledge also is informed enough to know that Isaiah Crowell was dismissed from the eventual national champs Georgia.

Speaking of insight, who predicted a Georgia national championship on here in the summer? MSDawg34.
