I can't say if it's fact or not of course- but the rumors I heard was guys like Bo Jackson and others were speaking out against Petrino. Huge divide on it and the Dye faction thought they would just steamroll him in like they Cheezik. Low says the President made the call which wouldnt be surprising at this point. With the sanctions coming, the added embarrassment of Petrino is too much even for Auburn I guess

I coached for 13 years- 10 of those as a head football coach or OC.. 6 as a head baseball coach, and 2 exhausting seasons coaching basketball....I was never a volunteer anything

And at the most optimistic he said there's a chance we go to the MCB but if he had to bet we'd go to the Compass. He did lay out how it was possible to go to the MCB and he wasn't wrong. Northwestern is who put you in the Gator. You know Vandy was more deserving but they wouldn't take a rematch, thus you got the Gator.
