Speaking of grilling, I am considering whether to replace the vinyl siding on my home. A spot by my deck is a bit warped. The estimator asked yesterday whether I grilled on my deck (I don't), as the spot was about the right height. He said he sees damage where people put the hot grill too close to the house, warping or otherwise damaging siding via heat.

I seldom cook a meal on Friday nights. Tonight it will be one of my easy ones. Cheesy tuna helper with cayenne pepper sprinkled over it. Iced tea, and iced animal cookies.

That was an early lunch. Will have a supreme pizza at halftime of the game today.

I drive there about every 2 months. Yesterday was my birthday so I wanted some oysters. lol I've known the owners for a long time and I enjoy talking with them but they were not there yesterday. They used to set up at Tar Heel Town years ago before games. It used to be very cheap to eat there. It's gone up like everywhere else. Just several years ago my wife and I could eat there for less then 20 bucks. it was 35 bucks yesterday. Still worth the drive and they have the best fresh oysters. They get them out of Chesapeake. Better then any I've eaten at the beach and I just returned from the Outer Banks where I was disappointed in the oysters I had there.

A large family sat down next to us wearing Gamecock gear. I was decked out in full UNC gear. They asked the waiter what corn sticks were. I busted out laughing.

Since I had a heavy dinner consisting of meat loaf, creamed potatoes and gravy, field peas, crescent rolls with butter (and crescent rolls dipped in molasses for dessert, lol) and iced tea for dinner I went light for supper.

Baked fish filets with melted jalapeno cheese, baked french fries, mac and cheese, iced tea, and 4 Hershey's miniatures.

With Thanksgiving coming up this week, I'll sort of take it easy on dinner for the week. Last night I cooked a 10 layer dip with chips. The dip consists of sauteed onions, diced peppers, andouille sausage, diced red Italian peppers, black olives, diced jalapenos, black beans, topped with shredded Monterey jack cheese, shredded lettuce and tomatoes. Really good on a cool night.

I never could get a taste for beef hotdogs no matter how much I tried. I guess being raised on Bright Leaf hot dogs (even worked at Carolina Packers as a teen a long, long time ago) I'm just set in my ways. lol Even had an uncle who ran a meat packing plant in Wisconsin and everything was made with beef and I still could not get a taste for beef hotdogs but could eat anything else beef they made.

I'm not picky either way. I chose the franks for the size. I've never seen a Bright Leaf jumbo frank.

Wife made a marinated charcuterie salad (is that a thing or did I just make it up?) with cubed salami, Granny Smith apple, white cheddar cheese, gherkins, walnuts, craisins, shallots, and a Dijon mustard/balsamic dressing. It was really good. The leftover are marinating in the ‘fridge.

Last night was cubed chicken seared in a large skillet and then layered in with julienne cut sundried tomato, garlic, gnocchi, spinach, cream cheese, simmered and the plated with shaved Parmesan cheese. It was really good.

This afternoon, I don’t know, I’m sure the wife is cooking up something.

Had a frozen dinner. Country fried chicken topped with grated cheese and Texas Pete sauce, with potatoes and gravy and corn. Not too bad. Also had some leftover dressing and gravy, unsweetened iced tea, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream.

I have a superstition where I have to eat BBQ on game day. Today it's Stephenson's BBQ. Best cue in NC west of Greenville and just might beat out some of those places. Will eat some of my wife's home made pizza just before the game.

Wife wasn’t hungry so I made a couple of hot dogs with chili, onions, mustard on buttered and toasted buns. And half a Hersey chocolate bar for dessert.
