1. I don't think ACC baseball is "inferior" and very few here do. However, the ACC hasn't had a team win the national title since 1955... we've had 2 SEC teams win 3 of the last 5... so let's not pretend that's not a difference.

2. I very much respect your team... There weren't too many people here excited to play you guys from the prospect of chances to win. That does NOT mean we don't think we have a decent chance of moving on to Omaha. We played the 6th toughest schedule in the nation and had 40 wins in the regular season.

3. I have NEVER heard a fan, opposing fan, player, or opposing player EVER mention smoke being a factor in the outfield.

4. You will never meet more diehard baseball fans that come week-in and week-out than those at DNF. Yes, they pay attention to the game in the outfield, and until you've been and sat out there, you have no clue what you are talking about, especially judging by watching 1 game on tv.

5. Don't for a second pretend that 5K of your fans = 10K of our fans is not a flame... you know damn well it was. aGAIN, you are only proving your ignorance. I've never been to a game in Virginia, but i'll guaran-damn-tee you DNF has one of the best atmosphere's in college baseball, and I've been to many SEC/Conference USA venues.

I also did not attend UVA. My Dad went there and I grew up a UVA fan. I actually went to N.C. State, but I still pull for the Hoos, it is too ingrained in my DNA at this point

Second topic, smoke in the outfield. For starters the grills are on DECKS that are above the players height by a couple feet. The outfielders are about 30 yards from the wall. When in the history of fire and smoke does the smoke go down and stay at eye level after drifting 150+ feet? "Smoke in their eyes" is quite possibly the dumbest single statement ever posted on this board.

Yeah, we haven't won the "Prize" since 1955 but anyone knowledgeable about the game knows that stuff happens in baseball and if you look at the entire season, vs. just the World Series... the best team doesn't always win. We've lost 10 games this year and not all of those were to a better team. We either made base running blunders or other errors that cost us that game. "IT" happens.

I really don't believe anyone actually thinks that. Do people think the SEC is and has been the stronger baseball conference? Yes. Is that going to help us or play any factor in the series this weekend? Absolutely not.

I for one would be pleasantly surprised if we won this weekend, because UVA has had the better season and it is at Virginia. At the same time, nobody is giving up on our team. We've played so well with our backs against the wall all year.

You went wrong when you flamed our fans in the outfield for not paying attention to the game and saying smoke was a factor in the outfield. Those of us who have actually sat out in the lounge many times, regardless of what you saw on television and heard a 3rd string commentator on ESPN3 say, know that to be completely and totally not true. As a matter of fact, the most die hard fans I know sit in the lounge. Sit out there a game and get back to us with that comment...

When comparing two conferences the ONLY thing that matters at the end of the day is how many titles each has won. The Washington Nationals had a better regular season last year than the San Francisco Giants but did they have a better season than the Giants? Nope. The Denver Broncos had a terrific regular season last year but was their season better than the Baltimore Ravens? Hell 17 no! The ONLY thing that matters is the trophy. The ACC should get 8 more of those before they even try to equate themselves to the SEC. By that time the SEC will have about 30 maybe 40 NC in baseball. We'll all be dead before the ACC gets 9 NC in baseball.
