If we can play like we did in the first 22 minutes last night we can hopefully give them a scare and hang in there… Need to use the clock as much as possible on offense as our friend, as the saying goes our best defense might be keeping Greyhounds O on the bench!!!
I think it was around 2018 when Statesville beat East Rowan like 50-7 the last game of the regular season. Then they played each other the next week in 1st rd of the playoffs. Statesville only won by 1 TD. So I guess anything can happen.
I think we had about 5 turnovers and most of the team that was there 1st varsity start.
1st game of the year and a lot of things went wrong for Hibriten… it was a 13-7 EL lead with about 4 minutes to go before half with Hibriten having EL in a 4th and 14 and then the wheels fell off after that
Congrats to Hibriten and their win last night! However, if this game turns out to be a blowout like last night's game, I hope that Hibriten does not quit like East Lincoln did. That really pissed me off when EL JUST GAVE UP!! That makes their once proud program look bad and the conference look bad. Everybody at the game saw it and were even talking about it afterwards, no question. Kids should be motivated to play whether they are winning or losing a game. As for the game, I think Hibriten runs the wing-t which can be difficult to defend. They are going to have to put up close to 300 yards rushing against a tough defense probably the best defense they have seen all year to have a chance. Anything less than that.......well!!

As for Statesville the OL has been a big improvement over the years. And one of the OL Coach has a son Brock Hoffman that plays for Virginia Tech. Also, been impressed with Statesville offense Coordinator don't know his name, but he came from Hough.

This will be a interesting match up but I believe know what they have to do to win, control the temp/clock n have minimal mistakes …. Hibriten prob won’t match the speed n all but they can make less mistakes to win
Statesville can be hard to play at and Statesville actually has prob one of the better teams this year , Not many personal fouls or dumb penalties , they have gotten better and etc …

We've had more issues with penalties, turnovers and just plain execution than not having the jimmies and joes.

No worries, blazer. Never seen a Hibriten team quit. One thing for sure, they’ll hit you in the mouth for 48 minutes!

like I said earlier… Hibriten can move the ball, they are KILLING themselves. They are not able to contain the greyhound speed on offense, so these turnovers and driving killing penalties are hurting twice as bad right now.

First time I’ve watched Hibriten since they kicked our *** on homecoming a while back lmao
Early in year could be excusable with all the youth and inexperience we had but in game 12 there is no excuse!!!!
I think our young men over-achieved given the youth and inexperience of playing at this level. I see great things in the near future for this team!
Hibriten was seriously exposed in this game. Couldn't even score a touchdown. More like a scrimmage game than a playoff game for Statesville.
