Hibriten @ Statesville 3rd round

Overall Statesville has been very successful and prob the most successful team within the county but weak schedule n lack of success in playoff vs top teams.
No one from Hibriten had an expectation of a deep playoff run this year. We were beat soundly by East Lincoln and Watauga in the regular season and gutted out some wins in some games that could have went either way. We knew we would have to play near flawlessly against Statesville to have a chance and the turnovers and penalties ruined any chance of keeping it close.
Statesville has a good team. They made it further than I thought. But I just don’t think they are in the caliber of Dudley. We shall see this Friday what happens. But I feel Dudley moves on. Perhaps Crest or South Point n Dudley will be a good one. I could be wrong. Wouldn’t be my first crow meal. Lol

Statesville does have a good team this year. I think Dudley wins Friday night, but I would not be shocked to see Statesville win in a close one. Should be a good game.
well said. this idea that we were “exposed”? LOL they were exactly what they’ve been all season — good enough to win the 50/50 games, blowout when they run into a team where they’re outmatched
Funny thing is that fact of trying to justify our team belonging in the third round of the 3a playoffs,, beaten by a larger, faster, older team? Hell im happy they made it as far as they did,, Statesville is just better, this year... Thats HS football. I bet Hibriten gets another shot before the 3a trip is over, bunches of freshmen and sophomores out there starting for this team Kinda reminds me of the 2015 team that lost to Kings Mountain in the third round, finals in 2016, 2017,2018... Babies grow,, always do, especially with great coaching
