I think there best chances to win are South caldwell, St Stephens , North Iredell, West Iredell, Foard so 5 wins at worst n maybe a few more if they get a upset over like North Lincoln n Newton Conover

I heard North Lincoln and Statesville lost alot due to graduation. I have no idea what south Caldwell and Alexander central has this season. Newton Conover should be a win for the red tornadoes. I like hickory 2nd in their conference behind east Lincoln

I think y’all are sleeping on Statesville- Yes they did lose a lot but we know there is talent all over that school.

Also - Rydell may be a Year 1 HC but coaching is in his blood his family are all coaches and Rydell has won 2 state titles as a Assistant. He was at SI for long time under Miller who prob the best HC in South Iredell history and possibly in iredell co so Rydell will be ready Imo

I would be shocked if they finish 4th.

Hey Statesville May win the conference but being a head coach is more than just coaching. The dude is a decent OC. It’s not knowledge but being a HC is a 365 job now.

I’m sure he aware n that n He already half way there anyway since he knows all the kids and he been in this area for a while so And Just remember he is a State Champion as OC so I’m sure he a solid OC ….

I believe that Hickory will have a pretty good year. If Hickory can win their opening game they have an opportunity to get on a little roll from a confidence standpoint.

Newton and Hickory have not played each other the last 2 seasons….similar to Maiden and St. Stephens.
COVID messed it up.

Prior to that…. Newton has had Hickory’s number for quite some time. Hickory hasn’t beat Newton since 2013.

i believe that hickory should have a “pretty good year” (8+ wins) way more years than not. like 80% of every decade (8/10 years)

so much potential and natural built-in advantages for hickory high. if everyone (administration, coaches, community) is on the same page, it’s a destination job imo … with the right guy, that program easily easily should operate on autopilot … rack up w’s and be a conf title favorite/contender annually

You obviously haven't been to any Statesville workouts. The talent suiting up is scary. This freshman/sophomore class at Statesville is special.I like the underdog approach for Statesville. Just don't be surprised if you see another conference banner in Statesville . Coach Cowan selected an excellent staff. Alot of people forget Coach Cowan has 2 state titles rings as an assistant. Played college football at App State. He's been waiting on this opportunity for years.

Statesville has a weak schedule this year no worse 7-8 At min. I think they still within top 2. Talent is always been at Statesville there never been a shortage of that

I think could go thur some growing pains with a lot new faces so Gotta see how they gel. I think they have a few solid returns but they lost some of their playmaker but they do have talent players to fill in but only time will tell

I think EL, Statesville, Hickory n Can’t rule out NL as top teams.
