Coach Bryd is leaving Hopewell and I believe this is the first opening this seasons. Coach Bryd left Hopewell better then he found it. Coach Bryd had success on and off the field at Hopewell n Prob is the best coach Hopewell has had

now with that being said- With the better foundation left at Hopewell, Who can come in and keep building off that foundation and maybe even take it to better heights!
Hopewell is tough place to win at but it can be done.

I don’t think it can. I think what Byrd did was the ceiling.

Yeah expect many more and maybe a few from the Charlotte area. Either way, supposedly/allegedly ‘older (60/65+’ will be getting out.. but that was one ‘experts’ guess. He could be right???

I will say I think this was a mistake for Hopewell to let him leave I heard some mumbling there more on why he leaving.

anyway - Hopewell will go back to 0-11 bc Bryd was there best coach and idk who wants this job

Coach Byrd was a great fit at Hopewell. Hopefully it was his decision. In that conference Hopewell has tough sledding. Then WC is on the rise too.

Coach Byrd has a new gig, but it hasn’t been announced yet. Sounds like it was his decision. No idea why Hopewell admin. would choose to move on from him on their end.
I heard mixed stuff so I think Bryd was going leave soon but I heard maybe admin help him make that decision n I’m sure Bryd would have a job or HC again bc Bryd is a great coach. If Nixon wasn’t at Mooresville I would loved to have Bryd there

How can you say that? It was a mistake for them to let him leave? When you want to leave, you leave. Nothing anyone can do about it.
Also, as a member of the Grammar Police....*their*

I could really care less about your Grammar Police …. And If I’m a coach I wanna leave on my own term not have it forced to have it happen period n end of story

Was he forced? Or did he leave for another job? Which is it? You said you wished Hopewell had done more to keep him, yet come here and imply it was forced. It cannot be both.
Also, it's "I could really care less..."

So if forced, why do administrators force out coaches who have made programs better? Why do administrators let coaches go after 1-2 years when that doesn’t allow any coach time to turn a program around? A few examples already from this cycle!

There can be any number of reasons to let a coach go. It could be the administrator, it could be the coach. Most common ones: they don't share the same goals for the program (doesn't take more than a year or two to figure that out); the coach does things the admin won't tolerate; the coach causes issues the admin has to deal with; the admin is just not good at their job, particularly when it comes to athletics; admin, being not good at their job, is jealous of the influence a successful coach has.....all of those can lead to an early departure, despite winning. Typically--coach is doing what admin wants done with the program (breaks rules, is "abusive", doesn't get along, causes problems). Not much different than any number of reasons a coach would want to leave a place.

True! A lot of that should be worked out during the interview process and if not shame on admin.

I believe they got a new principal not to long ago. biggest issues at Hopewell is Admin bc they have had atleast 2-3 principles in the last 5 years so It all starts at the top. At one time Hopewell was struggling athletics was n education side so at least they gotten better but turnover is the issue
