why in the hell would you want that? Are Bama and LSU not getting enough press for you? Putting them in the title game year after year doesnt help our program- it hurts it

I agree, the only advantage for us having bama in the nc in the short term

is we ratchet up one level in the bowls. At least I think that would be the case without putting any effort whatsoever into trying to map that out.

Agreed... The SEC chest beating has already run it's course. If Oregon and K-State lose tonight, then I guess I'm pulling for Georgia, but even then... them winning doesn't help us that much either.

No it doesn't help but 7 National Championships in a row by 5 different teams is pretty damn awesome for the SEC. If the SEC is to win another I want it to be Georgia this year.

If it's not my team, the championship game has little effect on my emotions. Sure, I might have some teams I'll go for, but if there weren't any SEC teams in it this year, I wouldn't care as much (unless ND some how won). Having all of these conference championships is cool and all... but I don't feel like it matters to us since we didn't add a single one.

Not buying that. Florida and Auburn have won NC too during this stretch. It's helped all of us. MSU doesn't get Mullen if the SEC isn't what it is right now. MSU has been on TV every game save 1 this year. That doesn't happen if the SEC isn't what it is right now. We want the SEC to stay #1 and keep winning NC.

Florida is on par with LSU and Bama and Auburn has been getting top 10 recruiting classes- Chizik just sucks

The SEC was already big- but the constant branding and Bama and LSU will make it impossible for us if it keeps on

I agree with this too. I think we have benefited. But I hate BAMA as welll, so it's bittersweet...I'll admit. But we are at a high point for our program, and aprt of the reason is the SEC is soaring...taking all boats with it.

We are closing the gap faster than they can run forward. If you were to tell me on the day Croom got skull17ed 45-0 that 4 years from then MSU would beat Auburn, Tennessee and Arkansas 45-14 in the same season, start the year 7-0 climbing to #11 in the rankings, currently be building 100 million dollar additions to the stadium and going to a 3rd straight bowl game I would tell you you're smoking crack.

I honestly don't see any way continued conference success hurts us. It gives all of us more national cache'. I want the divide between the SEC and everyone else to grow greater and greater...to the point that we have more OOS recruiting appeal.

Already being seen to some extent by how well Vandy and OM are recruiting other states...
