Hough will take on Mallard Creek. Be honest I didn’t think Mallard Creek would make it this far in the playoffs when the playoffs first started. Mallard Creek seems to make progress. With Hough they will be tough to beat but never know when an upset can happen on any given night. Any thoughts or predictions.

Correct. We always want a fair environment but Creek will be hurting by CSM schools ability to recruit their players. Surprise to have them this far in brackets.
That's over after this year. New CMS AD is shutting it down. They will be running audits on residency of players. If caught, students will be 365 and coaches risk losing employment. That means, this is Hough's last opportunity to win it all. They will go back to being below average or average. As they have out recruited UNCC 49ers' the last 5 years. The returning MC players are buying into the new staff and realize, if they keep everyone in place. They're a huge contender for next year. Why leave?

The enrollment at Hough is 2544 students, 9.6% students are African American 4.8% = (122) are African American Males. The Varsity Football team consist of 65% to 70% African American males. The JV team consist of less than 5%, which is consistent with their enrollment numbers. YES I AGREE! Hough is a different breed. :)

Huh? They've all of a sudden realized the dangers of illicit recruitment? Until recently, MC has been an outstanding program. I sincerely hope that the information provided above is accurate. If that's the case, then MC has returned.

While you claim Hough will drop from below average to average, what makes you think that MC will buy into the program after their track record in recent years? What sets 2022 apart from prior years?

You mentioned Returning, Buying, Huge Contenders, and Why Leave. This has been mentioned numerous times, yet no progress has been achieved.

No! They didn’t just realize. Everyone knew. I guess the New CMS AD decided to correct it. What Recent years? This is the 1st full year with the new staff. The year before Covid they handled Gaffney at the Reservation, and was going toe to toe with the best team in SC Dutch Fork. No Progress? What teams in 4A, have consistently won 10 games a season over 13 year span? They set the bar so high, that if they don’t win the State it’s now considered a bust?
You're absolutely right. I'm used to an MC who can quickly and easily blow up a scoreboard. MC has persevered despite the fact that this year has been a hardship. Fairness will fall into place if the new CMS AD is successful with this approaching transition, and we will all see who can effectively sell the program to the youth.

So you're going to steal the show from Chamber next year now that they're buying into it?

This is good news, but how do you stop people from “buying”/“renting” apartments in a certain zone and claiming that they live there to send their kid to that school?

You don’t stop that. That’s not against the rules. That’s not what they’re currently doing. A lot of these kids are altering paperwork and allegedly moving, with it going unchecked. They’re still at their original addresses.

So you're claiming that a water or light bill isn't required for verification by the school system? Throughout this time, the educational system has placed a great deal of trust in 14-18 year old students to provide them with the information they choose to share?

If this is true, the educational system has gone insane.

Let's just say, it wouldn't take a lot of effort to pop some of these programs.

Yep, that's a whole different scenario and should be examined.

Shut down open enrollment in Forsyth County and you'd see a complete shift in hs football.
Are the addresses for their players included on Maxpreps or included on the rosters given to the announcers? It is a fact that kids transfer and not all of them relocate into a district or enroll in an approved program.

Where would it shift ?
First let me say that I meant it would shift football in Forsyth County. With that being said, you'd have more equal schools in the county. Carver and Parkland would have more talent, Tabor would probably be the dominant school. Glenn would be solid. I don't know about EF though. I can't specifically comment on them.

I honestly don't know. All I know is WSFCS allows students to go to any school as long as you have a ride and there's room for the kids who live in the district.

Is East Forsyth's ability to keep excellent players hampered by open enrollment?

I don't know. Demographics shift all the time. I currently don't know the demographics of EF especially with Walkertown being built in their back yard some years ago. What I will say is on past championship teams there are people I know who would not have gone to East if school choice wasn't an option.

Wow, I get what you're getting at. That needs to be straightened out by someone. Has this issue been brought to the attention of the highest authorities?
This issue is as old as American history regarding school choice and I don't feel many are capable of having the conversation here so I won't have it. With that being said, sports wasn't the deciding factor for school choice in Forsyth County.

That's a total comprehension. There is a lot to say on this subject. Unfortunately, you are aware of the vast majority of what exists and has not been corrected.

With Forsyth county having open enrollment it wouldn't take much to get a few kids over at East to get them to go from great to elite. Carver, Walkertown, Atkins, and Ws Prep are five high schools within a 6-mile radius to the east correct? Those athletes must have skipped Atkins? lol

"Out recruit UNC 49ers" was classic.

At the 2008 Citizens Committee on Eligibility one of the rules CMS wanted to put in place was any move constituted a set out, then it was if they followed a coach from their current school to a new school. The future Guilford County Schools Superintendent, a Duke Law School grad, piped in that not only would that get quashed by any court but get ready to be sued and lose.
