At the 2008 Citizens Committee on Eligibility one of the rules CMS wanted to put in place was any move constituted a set out, then it was if they followed a coach from their current school to a new school. The future Guilford County Schools Superintendent, a Duke Law School grad, piped in that not only would that get quashed by any court but get ready to be sued and lose.
Is there still a Deep River Friends Meeting House in High Point?

Was Mac there today.. they seem to struggle in their division 2 scrimmage today. They are now going into Raleigh with a .500 record as scrimmages don't count  Only a UNc fan would try and count that.
Hard to get motivated to play in a game like that at noon. Just glad the young guys were able to get some PT. A lot of teams play at least 2 cupcakes in a season. We'll see what Sam can do in what probably will be his last collegiate game. Go Heels!

Division 2 games should not count as wins... they should be counted as scrimmages.. UNC is 5-5 going in the last game of the year.. not a good look for MAC is back.

You'll have to talk to the NCAA about that. It's "Mack is Back, not Mac. Program is in much better hands than when he found it, just gotta keep grinding and get these young talented kids on the field. Regardless of who you pull for, still good to see home grown guys like Sam Howell, Myles Murphy, Caleb Hood, Power Echols, Ritzie, British Brooks etc have success.

I don't care what the NCAA says.. UNC should have enough pride not to count them. They obviously don't. I am not sure that I would say UNC is having a lot of success with the way they have played this year. Heck with the possible exception of Howell it is not like anyone of those kids is going to be name to an ALL ACC team. MACK is Back is going to get the award for underachievement in 2021. If they don't beat a mediocre State team this weekend then I would wonder if either these so called great recruits are actually that good or the staff is not good at developing players.

Pretty sure Downs will be All-ACC given he's 1 or 2 in receiving. Mack's first good class are only sophomores this year. Everyone knows it takes at least four years to turn over a roster.

I'll send in a letter to the school to not count it, no problem. Lot of Fedora recruits will graduate this season to pave away for these highly ranked kids to showcase their talents. Go Heels!

Yeah. four years.. but to suck like this in year three.. top ten Mack is back.. now .500 when you erase the scrimmage,,, are you changing the tagline of the post to Mack is back in year four, I mean a real football program would fire him if he loses to NC state. In this case make him lose 25 pds. I can only imagine how many more games they would have lost if they played all the young guys who have inflated rivals rankings.

Just substitute UNC into ND from this video.

Not just rivals. Those are composite 4-star/5-stars. So, it sounds like your argument is with the ratings services that somehow got it all wrong.

Weird how we didn't hear this last year when he took a team that was two years removed from 2-9 to a NY6 bowl. And that's fine. It's not going to change anything right now.

One thing that has disappeared in major college football is patience. Mullen done...2 years ago he was COY material. FSU fan base screaming about Norvell, hell....they want Sark out now at Texas. I thought Nebraska may have made the best decision they have made in awhile hanging in with Frost. Is Mel Tucker worth 95 mill or does he suck now after getting destroyed by OSU??

It takes time to develop a consistent culture of winning. Notre Dame fan base was ready to hang Kelly after 2016. I think there happy with what has transpired since.

UNC was over hyped this year. Guess what..they are gonna be under hyped next year without Howell. If the win total is 7.5 or less in Vegas I will be a huge buyer.

Mullen is a good coach. He had actually outperformed Kirby (up until this year) with less talent. His deal is recruiting. That and they lost a lot the last couple years in the draft (including their QB). Tough to go from being in the SECCG to being let go in one season. Team like VaTech would do really well with someone like Mullen - go back and look at what he did at Miss St.

It's almost the opposite at Carolina. You've got really good recruiters, but it's beginning to look like they're mediocre coaches. One of the mistakes Mack made imo is that he should've let his coordinators make their own hires. Maybe he got their input. I don't know. I kind of doubt it. Searels has never coached in the air raid, and the OL has underwhelmed. Cross isn't a bad coach, but there's some problems on that side of the ball as well up front. That in my mind is what it'll come down to over the next couple years. Can they get the staff straight? Will they improve on their weaknesses? If you go back and look...over the course of the season, just bad OL play (poor fundamentals) cost them somewhere between 3 and 7 points a game. We'll see how they handle the offseason and how they look once these last couple classes start filling out the 2 deep.

I think you make some valid points, but you also get the feeling that the team chemistry is not very well united with the heels. Typically that is one of the biggest reasons teams overachieve or underachieve. It is still a team game first. I do agree with your earlier assessment that the last two recruiting years are not as good as their rival ratings. Not to say that some of the kids did not deserve their rating but when you take into consideration other aspects of recruiting like the construction of the team over several recruiting years, those two years IMO were rated optimistically and overblown by those with blue tinted glasses. I do think that this years class is actually underrated. One thing that gets overlooked is that teams depth are built with three classes. Last years team had special players recruited by Fedora and not brown, Newsome, Brown, Carter, Williams. I like Howell ( he is a gamer) we saw him every years in HS... but with the same OL line and still a good RB and WR his productivity is much different. If INC loses to a medicare State program on Friday ( a defense so decimated by injuries) then you know they have some internal issues. The nice thing is internal issues can be fixed in the off season.
