Their 2 defensive ends spent more time in Hough’s backfield then Hudson and the RB!!!
Our QB had a high ankle sprain, and played at 50%, and the 10th grader got most of the snaps. Tre Robinson at 100% different ball game.
The defense is special.......shut them all the way down and scored both TDs. I said it after the Gaffney game, now I'm 100% sure of it. Best DBs as a group in school history. 3 more picks tonight. Not a open receiver the entire evening. They press, they can run and have great ball skills. Very, very well coached group.
I didn’t watch much of the game because of the Catholic/Butler game. That win is more impressive
I thought last season’s defense was pretty good given the circumstances. I knew they would be good this year but not this good. This could be better than the 2017 defense which I thought was the best I seen from MC.
I know Mallard Creek will be a team to keep eye on in the playoffs.
You didn't see your DB Coaches standing at midfield running off at the mouth so loud everyone in the stadium could hear it? You must be blind to the truth because you're such a big Fan. You can take all the shots at East Forsyth you want it doesn't change the facts that your coaches act like a bunch of pop Warner coaches.

Lot of great defenses during the Palmieri years. I still think when healthy I would take 2017 but the Tinsley defenses are just different.
Palmieri played straight up 4-3, big thumpers. 2 high safeties, mostly zone, very tough to run on, bend but don't break between the 20s. If they had a breakdown it was in coverage. 2017 had to play Zamir White, Quavaris Crouch, Lawrence kid from Wake. Great run defense.
This squad plays that hybrid 3-3-5. Lots of pre snap movement, in your face press coverage, send kids from all different angles. They tackle extremely well and they can absolutely fly. They remind more of some of Hackett's defenses at Vance. The 3 games I have watched live I think they have 10 turnovers including 7 ints.

Yeah, honestly New Bern is dominating everyone they're playing. The only teamS I see challegening them in the East is CG, Hillside, and maybe Wake Forest.

Predicting Hough to win wasn’t terrible although you would favor Mallard Creek in a rematch. I didn’t understand why you thought it would be a blowout. I see Hough’s talent but it doesn’t always translate to dominance. Hough had tight games with good teams (Chambers, DF) and Mallard Creek had tight games with (Gaffney and SP) so I figured it would be a pickem with me favoring Creek. To be honest I found Hough’s offensive scheme to be pedestrian, they out talent you.
MC hadnt really won big post Palmieri and prior matchups werent close. Thats on me for overvaluing Hough. May have to add a "Hough" factor to these games as no way i would have thought Hough would lose to Chambers in the playoffs last year nor to MC this year. Dont want to use choke with children but Hough has been disappointing at times despite their superior talent.
MC is a team i watched and rooted for alot under Coach P. Will have to pay more attention to them now. Glad they are top 5 material will give me more playoff games to see.
