the spirit is yammering and bitching about MS high school coaches favoring MSU more than them. I'm sure nutt's remarks the other day got this stirred up again. I'm sure they are scheming as we speak. Who do these people remind me of?

They just lost another bag man yesterday......

....so they are already at a disadvantage.

I thought that they were concentrating more out of state anyway and just cherry-picking MS? Why should they care about MS High Schools outside South Panola and Madison Central?

he was making excuses the other day on tv or radio that it is hard for olemiss University to recruit the state b/c most of the h.s. coaches favor MSU. Has nothing to do with the fact that the typical MS kid or any kid for that matter doesn't really identify with anything in that town or what they stand for. I guess houston forgot about the "mississippi home run".

I thought they already addressed this problem by creating a special major for

coaching/teaching. Don't know the details but I do think it happened.

He didn't say favor MSU, he said most were MSU graduates. I guess you could construe that they favor MSU because of this, but he didn't say that

I'd wait another year before I made that call.....

They only lost Mayers, Brassell and Singleton out of that bunch, and the rumor is Brassell is back (I know how their 'rumors' are, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt). I wouldn't call it foul, more like a double. The rest of the MS guys are actually contributing (Moncrief, Prewitt, Johnson, Golson, Brown, Hamilton, Bell, Morris).

Prewitt, Brown, and Bell weren't considered part of the "homerun," but have been nice surprises from that class. Helps off-set the loss of Singleton and Mayers. Singleton loss hasn't hurt much at all considering how good Sanders and Collins Moore (pre-injury) have been. I think Johnson winds up being a Von Miller type (maybe not that good, who knows) and Moncrief is a future high NFL draft pick assuming health. Five potential 3-4 year starters. I'd say we did OK with that MS class.

CJ Johnson and Von Miller in the same sentence. Wow.

"maybe not that good, but who knows"

Blank stare.

This is correct. Nutt complained when he got to OM about us not having a general studies degree and not having whatever degree you get to he a coach and because of that most coaches in the state graduated from MSU, which is true.
