He's not even close to any hot seat and won't be for at least another 4 years minimum and that will only come if his teams totally suck . It amazes me that for all he's accomplished, until this year (which isn't over yet) people ask about a "hot seat".
I think a lot of people are starting to question whether that team accomplished that on pure talent alone and nothing to do with his coaching.

Rea. Last year he hit behind Renfroe. While teams were busying themselves with trying to pitch around Renfroe, guess who benefited? Now that Renfroe's not here everyone is dogging Rea.
I've seen many people attribute this to Rea's struggles. But Pirtle hit fourth behind Renfroe down the stretch last year, with Rea behind Pirtle. Rea is getting many pitches to hit this year, he just isn't hitting. Period. Hate it for him.
You watch Jerry Springer? As much as I hate losing, I almost look forward to coming on here after a loss and looking at all the stupid **** our fans put on here. It's so stupid and ignorant it's comical. Almost like watching Jerry Springer.
Gene Chizik was fired at the end of the follow-up season to a national championship for good reason. I am sick of hearing the "people don't realize how bad we were going to miss Frasier, Renfroe, etc" argument. The fact of the matter is that Cohen, as long as he has been there, should have had more equally good players to step in to take their place. Just about every player with the exception on Derrick
Armstrong is worse than they were last year.
Keep making excuses for this coaching staff and we will become everybody's *****. We are damn near that now.
Yep. Because our coaches encouraging Girodo to change his arm slot had nothing to do with him going from being terrible to a great reliever.
Because our coaching had nothing to with developing Renfroe from a .154 hitter as a freshman to a .345 hitter as a junior.
I guess they also had nothing to with developing Frazier from a backup shortstop to the best lead-off hitter in the country.
Or helping Graveman go from having a 6.66 freshman ERA to being the ace of our staff.
When you swap Renfroe and Frazier for Jake Vickerson and Matthew Britton, your hitting is not going to be as good. Plain and simple.
what you mean.
Replacing a first round draft pick (one of our only two?? from the past 15+ years) and our all-time hits leader with kids equally as good or better should be pretty simple.
Well LSU seems to be able to do it every year. Hell even Vandy seems to be able to reload pretty well. The fact of the matter is that we have list to a bunch of teams we had absolutely no business losing to. Whether that is mental on the players side, not being prepared, not giving a ****, etc that is on the coaching staff.
I hear every preseason about how awesome Butch is and everyone wants to know why he hasn't been offered a HC yet? I think the answer is obvious.

Any team can get hot in the postseason. Hell, Fresno State won the national title as a regional 4 seed a few years ago. Our goal should be consistently at or near the top of the SEC every year. LSU and South Carolina do it, so there's no excuse for us not to, especially since we tout ourselves as a "baseball school" with the best fan support in the country. Can Cohen give us that consistant success? I'm not sure. His regular seasons have been very average with a couple of out of nowhere postseason runs thrown in. If next season is like this one, his seat should start to warm up for 2016.
