How much longer is USC willing to put up with Paris?

Ray Tanner handcuffed us with the big buyouts. Paris deserves to be shown the door. But I would save the money in case we need it to send Beamer out the door, after this season. Count me as unimpressed with Beamer's overall recruiting. I believe we have a difficult year coming up. We will need superior coaching to make up for a shortage of player talent compared to the teams we have to face. Does Shane Beamer have that ability? It would be wise to save the buy out money, imho.

He seems to actually have made some good assistant hires this offseason.

Given our luck, I bet he has just good enough of a season to further the debate of continuing his tenure. Oh joy.

He did get some good assistants. That might save him. I hope so. They are going to have to. We were ranked in the lower half of the SEC in both high school recruiting and transfer portal recruiting,

@gamecock stock and @Lurker123 . . . have you seen the podcast by Chris M_ _ _ _ (I don’t know his name; I’ll try to look up the podcast)?

In it he says Carolina had a record breaking recruiting, portal, and retention rating. We were ranked #8 in the nation in player ratings. I found it interesting but really don’t know if the rating are accurate or mean much. Your thoughts?

Edit: (Podcast below. Chris Marler is the name of the host. I don’t watch him but came across the podcast the other day)

I am not familiar with retention rankings. Looking at the high school and Transfer Portal rankings, we are ranked 9th, in the 16-school SEC, high school rankings. We are ranked 11th in the SEC, in the Transfer Portal rankings. The Transfer Portal recruiting is especially disappointing. We signed only 17 high school players, the lowest number in the SEC, except for Kentucky which went through a coaching change, We were told that the low number of high school recruits would leave us more NIL money for the Transfer Portal. Well, that did not work out.

Here's a fact, I have, many times stated here, that it's tough to recruit in football at South Carolina. I have given the reasons why. I'm not going to take the time to repeat myself as I want to get ready for the opening of the stock market for what I believe is a continuation of a "once in a lifetime" generational opportunity. If you take a look at the 2 best football coaches we have ever had: Steve Spurrier and Joe Morrison, neither was considered aggressive and strong recruiters. Morrison produced our first Top 20 teams (2 Top 15 teams). Spurrier produced our first Top 10 teams (3). I liked them both a lot. And they were able to bring in the occasional blue-chipper. But it was their coaching ability, not recruiting, that was their forte. Beamer was not advertised as a coaching talent, like his Dad. He was sold to us as being a recruiting magician. His recruiting has not been much better, if any, than any other USC coach. If Beamer is going to succeed, it's going to be because he got right the coaching assistant hires during the off-season. He is going to have to depend on them to get it done on the coaching end. He does not have the Morrison/Spurrier ability to single-handily correct coaching errors. Those are my thoughts. But, I know little and claim less.

That’s a fair assessment. And, I agree with you on the hiring of offensive coaches. Hopefully, they will overcome any deficiencies in the game planning and coaching.

I feel if they can come up with the $$$$$$$$ for a buyout…this will be his last season. If money is tight…he will continue. Why can’t our administration learn that ONE great season is not a true indication of the future? We have One successful season and we are afraid someone is going to steal the coach from us!
