Please explain. I will admit I did not follow Indiana last year or years prior but it seems they came out of nowhere.
What was their recruiting ranking coming into this year?
What was their recruiting ranking coming into this year?
And they said Cignetti spent time at BAMA. ....Cignetti is a high achiever and Marc Cuban is financing their program.
make no mistake, our boosters would have run Cig off and made his life miserable. Indiana has smart boosters/leadershipCignetti was 52-9 at JMU.
Also, all those experienced players are mostly 3 stars.
Watch them play. They all execute at a high level. They are extremely well coached.
(Side note: Cignetti was at the top of my wish list when we hired Lebby.)
Did you see the drive where they scored 42? A few plays before the score Mendoza outran everyone and fumbled the ball 25 yards down the field. The center jumped on the fumble. Why was he there? He had no reason to be running down the field. Hustle. And because he hustled he covered the fumble. The first down stood and they scored later. That’s coaching and why they are so good.
every player on their team is older and will punch you in the mouth before your get a chance to talk shi t. Mentallity. Please explain. I will admit I did not follow Indiana last year or years prior but it seems they came out of nowhere.

I was on the phone with my uncle (retired FB coach) and he said the exact same thing. Nobody else would have lineman chasing that play that far downfield but that's indicative of their culture as a result of Cignetti. Small things matter. They're just so precise and as the announcers keep saying "surgical". It's amazing but I love to watch them. They could become my number 2 team if I had to have one.Did you see the drive where they scored 42? A few plays before the score Mendoza outran everyone and fumbled the ball 25 yards down the field. They’d have never given him a chancemake no mistake, our boosters would have run Cig off and made his life miserable. Indiana has smart boosters/leadership
They are recruiting at our level. Cuban buying a bunch of players isn’t why they are good. I mean maybe he is the one actually buying them but he’s not outspending other teams. Cignetti is either cheating some way that no one has found out about or he is literally the best coach who has ever lived. What he is doing with players rated that low is unheard of and almost unbelievable. To just beat the dog sh*t out of everyone with Mississippi State level talent is bizzaro world.Cignetti is a high achiever and Marc Cuban is financing their program.
Yes it’s coaching, but I’d say even more so it’s the innate quality of that type of player that coach purposely recruits.Did you see the drive where they scored 42? Do you have a side team?I was on the phone with my uncle (retired FB coach) and he said the exact same thing. Ones with crosses on their face like you Will?Yes it’s coaching, but I’d say even more so it’s the innate quality of that type of player that coach purposely recruits.
You are dumb as a post. He made the playoff in his first year at Indiana.make no mistake, our boosters would have run Cig off and made his life miserable. Indiana has smart boosters/leadership
You must have watched a different Saban than I did.Pretty good strategy. Worked a couple years ago for a coach in basketball(old brain working tonight can't remember who). Cignetti knows life experiences make you a bit calmer when things get a bit stressful. Also he just stands there and never shows any emotion( that's the part he picked up from Saban).
Maybe if anger is just the way he is so you don’t call it an emotion. **You must have watched a different Saban than I did.
In this era, though, the money is critical to getting the “right” players.Indiana is very physical and high football IQ
They get after you on Defense and don’t beat themselves.
pretty much the exact opposite of us.
People who say it’s all about the money should remember it’s 65% money and 35% having the right staff and players
We used to have a center (hell, an entire OL) that played that way. I believe the year was 2014…Did you see the drive where they scored 42? A few plays before the score Mendoza outran everyone and fumbled the ball 25 yards down the field. The center jumped on the fumble. Why was he there? He had no reason to be running down the field. People see 3 star recruit next to his player and think they have ****** talent. They were 3 stars six years ago and progressed over time and with experience. Because they chose Indiana and not bigger schools when they transferred they did not get the extra star- we know that all too well. They are recruiting at our level. Cuban buying a bunch of players isn’t why they are good. I mean maybe he is the one actually buying them but he’s not outspending other teams. This but I don't think that it's cheating. It's evaluating. They are recruiting at our level. Cuban buying a bunch of players isn’t why they are good. Yes but he's pulling 3* older experience like talent like you said. That's the difference. We need to dive into who is evaluating all these guys and take note. Obviously Cig is saying yes or no but someone is finding them.People see 3 star recruit next to his player and think they have ****** talent.
