The Twitter rumors are probably an echo chamber, but retaining him is the typical M-State thing to do.
And like I've said before - he's probably not AS BAD as a DC as he showed this year. We were void of a lot of talent but there's a few things in play that I and others have said...
- Our defense just looked out of position a lot
- Our recruiting sucks
- Fanbase wants the change

Someone has to be sacrificial lamb. 5-7 with the worst offense I've seen to 2-10 with the worst defense in our history to most likely 3-9 is just a miserable fan experience

We had the same number of sacks in November as Alabama, A&M and LSU (11). Same with Tackles for Loss (10th) and total / scoring D (12)

Good coaches make up for the talent gap. You can't tell me our talent was FBS worst or bottom 10 FBS. If they are okay with that as a staff and our AD staff is then there is no hope for righting the ship. We at msu can never hope to out talent our opponents. We have enough talent we should be better than 2-10 and bottom of FBS in defense.
It's kind of hard to fire him if they don't have anyone better to replace him with, especially right before the early signing period. It's going to be interesting to see what kind of talent is going to be "committing" when they know they can always go somewhere else next year. I will always pull for MSU, my Alma matter and team I grew up loving, but my emotional investment in college football is getting close to running dry. Things will never be what they once were with this entitled generation in the mix.

We were 126th out of 133 programs in total defense. We gave up 456.4 yards per game! If that isn't enough to alert a coach that something needs to change then he is blind.
Start a movement among boosters, season ticket holders and NIL contributors. Make a change or no more money until you do. Money talks. I still need to finish paying my pledge but after that I am probably done giving any money until I see something good happen.

Agree 1000% with this. Our twitter representatives are not making us look good. Posting derogatory stuff about players specifically under their commitment announcement is in really poor taste. Not to mention, stupid shitt like that doesn't (a) convince Lebby to fire Hutzler; or (b) help us get good players, if that's what you twitter warriors are thinking. It just makes us all look bad.
