People look at his success at ULL and say "oh ok that's decent" but those people don't bother looking at ULL's history. Traditionally, that is arguably the worst FBS job out of all 120. He won the first bowl game in their HISTORY last year...well, since they were a JUCO in the 1940s. He's going to win 9 more and probably bring home another bowl game this year. He's a HERO in south Louisiana.
There is NO coach with better recruiting ties in La and Ms than Mark Hudspeth. Is he our best option nationally? No one can ever say that conclusively. What I do know is that he is a BULLDOG that loves MSU more than anywhere else, and if he had success here, we would never have to worry about losing him to somewhere else. In that manner, he's almost identical to John Cohen.
You can be good under hotshot coaches that run out of town when they get the chance, but you build dynasties with people that love this place and stay... as long as they are the right people for the job.
