Lane isn’t going anywhere. He’s trolling OM’s two “rivals.” The admin, big boosters and players are in on it.
I think you've got that trolling wrongLane isn’t going anywhere. He’s trolling OM’s two “rivals.” The admin, big boosters and players are in on it.
You could also say it's emotional hedging. He stays - you can say "I told you so." He goes - you can happily say you were wrong and enjoy the meltdown!Brandon is trolling.
Yeah. Even he can’t really believe that.Brandon is trolling.
If this is a “troll”, then that should result in a huge come to Jesus meeting with the administration. College sports isn’t a social media account. It’s never ever good to alienate and instill panic in your fanbase when the wind is in your sails.Lane isn’t going anywhere. He’s trolling OM’s two “rivals.” The admin, big boosters and players are in on it.
It’s a reverse jinx.Yeah. Even he can’t really believe that.
Just because he doesn’t take a job this year, doesn’t mean he stays there forever. He’ll be in Oxford until his don graduates HS.Why would Kiffin stay at a program that has maxed out with making the first round of the playoffs? Why would he max out for a fanbase that ESPN clearly states is tier 2 in size, not giving night games now or really ever, or favorable calls on the 50/50 calls that help him win and make ESPN more money? Why would you want to be forever tier 2 when there are tier 1 programs like Ohio State, Georgia, Bama, LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, Notre Dame with fanbases 4X to 5X the size of Ole Miss that generate millions of additional revenue for ESPN?
He really has only one choice. Stay and just enjoy a forever tier 2 program and semi-retire in Oxford, or move up to a program that will be able to compete regularly with the juggernauts.
What is crazy is that Louisana, Florida and Mississippi have realized this is highly valuable branding for their entire state. That is why each governor from all 3 states are involved.
This is the hottest he will ever be in his lifetime. OM loses 2-3 games next year and he is last year's darling.Just because he doesn’t take a job this year, doesn’t mean he stays there forever. He’ll be in Oxford until his don graduates HS.
OM can certainly make it to the championship game this year, on the road, they gave UGA everything UGA wanted. No one is beating TOSU though. Yes I realize OM had trouble with inferior teams also.
It probably does. You can’t pick & choose when you get a chance to coach an elite school. And you may only get that chance once. Waiting for his son to graduate is laughable. As if there aren’t schools as good as Oxford in Baton Rouge.Just because he doesn’t take a job this year, doesn’t mean he stays there forever. He’ll be in Oxford until his don graduates HS.
OM can certainly make it to the championship game this year, on the road, they gave UGA everything UGA wanted. No one is beating TOSU though. Yes I realize OM had trouble with inferior teams also.
Remember last season when everyone said that was OM’s year and they’d biggly fall off this year? Everyone said they borrowed the NIL money for last year and that would come home to roost this season? They’re actually better this year. This is the hottest he will ever be in his lifetime. OM loses 2-3 games next year and he is last year's darling.
Ole Miss does not have a chance in hell in making the championship. Geogia played around with them until the 4th quarter and then totally, completely embarrased them. Ole Miss got 1 yard and Georgia scored 17 points. Georgia will beat them 11 out of 10 times, as would OSU. Ole Miss is not going to win on the road against a tier 1 team, they are not close to that level yet.
His stock maybe never higher than it is right now. He’s benefited from a ridiculously easy schedule to elevate his profile even more to where two huge programs are fighting over him.Just because he doesn’t take a job this year, doesn’t mean he stays there forever. He’ll be in Oxford until his don graduates HS.

Roll the dice then on his entire future. As he mentioned, lose 3 games and miss the playoffs gets you fired now. Bet on that which you cannot control and lose 8 figures in the process.Remember last season when everyone said that was OM’s year and they’d biggly fall off this year? Everyone said they borrowed the NIL money for last year and that would come home to roost this season? They’re actually better this year.
You just hit on a major reason to stay in Oxford. He’s not getting fired at OM for 3 losses, not even 4 losses. He can even have a 5 loss season every now and then.Roll the dice then on his entire future. As he mentioned, lose 3 games and miss the playoffs gets you fired now. Bet on that which you cannot control and lose 8 figures in the process.
He was actually headed to being worse this year by 3 or 4 games. That's the number of games that Trinidad guy has willed them to win a one-score game. He got extremely lucky that Simmons went down to injury or Trinidad would never have seen meaningful snaps.Remember last season when everyone said that was OM’s year and they’d biggly fall off this year? Everyone said they borrowed the NIL money for last year and that would come home to roost this season? They’re actually better this year.

True, but he would be given 2-3 years of 3 losses and have every possible advantage at a tier 1 program. You just hit on a major reason to stay in Oxford. He’s not getting fired at OM for 3 losses, not even 4 losses. He can even have a 5 loss season every now and then.
lol we are a tier 5 football program with a small fanbase like OM.Just keep telling yourself whatever makes you feel better about the tier 3 program that you have. Maybe yall can win a baseball championship without having the hottest opponent drop out of the field so you can claim a real one. And maybe that joy will last longer than one whole year since we took that trophy from yall last time.
If he is trolling and is staying at OM and having a laugh about the troll job, he will have alienated LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Tennessee. And ADs will not take Jimmy Sexton as seriously going forward. Because he isn't negotiating in good faith. I hope Kiffin REALLY likes Oxford, because his options to leave and upgrade will be sparse for the foreseeable future.Lane isn’t going anywhere. He’s trolling OM’s two “rivals.” The admin, big boosters and players are in on it.

You don’t understand, he doesn’t have to stay in Oxford. We’ve all had kids, i had a chance to move when my oldest was in HS, i stayed because she liked it and was in a good situation. There aren’t a ton of high profile, established, “gettable” coaches. Lane is the second best coach in the SEC and Kirby isn’t going anywhere. Lane’s value will still be high 4 years from now. Furthermore, UF has been a dumpster fire for coaches since Urban left, and LSU doesn’t even want to pay BK’d buyout, plus the governor smeared Jimmy Sexton.True, but he would be given 2-3 years of 3 losses and have every possible advantage at a tier 1 program.
You are making the biggest point of the decision. Forever be a tier 2 program and just try to make the playoffs and semi retire in Oxford (which his family may or may not be that fond of). Or take a major step up in his career and compete with the big boys.
You ready to go back to the cellar with us when Kiffin leaves?so OM is tier 2 and yall are tier 5? Selling yourself a level or two short I believe. Maybe.
If he leaves, I’d promote Golding on a small contract (like we did with Arnep), but stress to keep everything in tact as much as possible (what Keenum didn’t do). The OM network i still in place. You ready to go back to the cellar with us when Kiffin leaves?
Yeah but he will never be gifted the schedule he had for the last two years .....they will make the playoff beating only one ranked team ( im sorry I don't consider Tulane a ranked team) ... the formula for making the playoff is to schedule as easy of a schedule as possible .... look no further than SMU last year and A&M OM and Oregon this year ....Roll the dice then on his entire future. As he mentioned, lose 3 games and miss the playoffs gets you fired now. Bet on that which you cannot control and lose 8 figures in the process.
Yep that's his schtick. You could also say it's emotional hedging. He stays - you can say "I told you so." He goes - you can happily say you were wrong and enjoy the meltdown!
You are going to need to learn the sad reality of the subscriber theory. Why do you think Notre Dame will forever get preferential treatment?so OM is tier 2 and yall are tier 5? Selling yourself a level or two short I believe. Maybe.
Yeah. I was leaning Lane trolling at first but it's gone on too long at this point. Fans are panicking. Players are pissed/sad. Even Lane is aware enough that's a bad move for some theoretical burn on LSU/UF and Oxford 4 life press conference win.If this is a “troll”, then that should result in a huge come to Jesus meeting with the administration. College sports isn’t a social media account. It’s never ever good to alienate and instill panic in your fanbase when the wind is in your sails.
Jimmy would drop Lane if it ends up being perceived as troll job. 1 high dollar *** isn't worth his portfolio of clients. If he is trolling and is staying at OM and having a laugh about the troll job, he will have alienated LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Tennessee. And ADs will not take Jimmy Sexton as seriously going forward. Because he isn't negotiating in good faith.
