I really have to agree with this. It's happened more than a few times.....
.....starting to see a pattern. This game obviously was far from over, but his quitting antics took away opportunities we had in the 2nd and 3rd quarter.
..Mullen is excellent against equal or inferior opponents, but is clueless against superior competition. Mullen can not inspire his team to play against a superior opponent (unless it is a Houston Nutt-coached Ole Miss team). That's why Mullen will be @ MSU until the year 2025.
Same thing as 2 years ago against Sumlin's Houston team.
On that play where the refs called Tyson Lee past the LOS on that 4th down completion to the Houston 12. In that game, it was a game-changer. But I've seen at least 3 bad calls that he hasn't challenged.
I think he's a little on the bratty/spoiled side.....
...when things don't go his way, and people even halfway question him, he starts getting all offended and stupid it seems like. That's the second time he's quit, the last was last year against LSU.
Hell it is two weeks in a row before half time that he tries to burn out the clock and go to the locker room. In both cases we were down more than 20 points.

That play was reviewed. And the call on the field was sustained. The crowd, the announcers, the staff, and the ticket taker thought we were golden with the booth review. But the refs came through for us again and cost us a bowl game.
Dan didn't challenge that play. He said in post-game comments that he should have. Play also wasn't stopped to review it. I can't recall if they reviewed all plays, including certain penalties, automatically back then. Maybe they did. But he definitely didn't challenge it, and should have.
It was not challenged. I remember screaming about it at the time and after the game, but I, like many on this board, was relieved when Mullen admitted he made a mistake not challenging in the post-game press conference.
