I don't have a high expectation that my dollars would be used for something i'd be that excited about. Would probably go towards an extra catered lunch or something superfluous. Yay, go State. Or maybe not, but the point is i don't know.
Now, if the AD did something like "we need X $ to do Y, if we get it in dedicated donations it happens, if not it doesn't", then i'd be very likely to donate if i supported that goal.
I also think the AD would benefit from doing something like offering something of basically a $100 value for a new member's first $100 donation. Get people in the door and all. Instead it's basically the opposite, where small donations get you nothing, while large ones get you everything. Not necessarily the wrong approach, but i think it completely explains why many dedicated fans with only a little to splurge with choose not to use that money on the BC.
