I knew our KO returns were ugly, but I didn't realize it was this bad...

<div>From one of B-lo's links above:</div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(68, 78, 92); font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">
<div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(68, 78, 92); font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">while the Tide's average of 23.6 yards on its 17 returns ranks 31st of the 120 NCAA FBS teams, the Bulldogs' average of 15.4 on 27 returns ranks last.</span></div><div></div>
</span></div><div>Dead last.</div><div>
</div><div>I like Perkins as much as anyone, on outside runs and screen passes, but he never has looked comfortable on returns. We have too many skill players to be last in the damn nation. Not to mention, we need all the field position we can get. Lewis, Banks, Carr - heck, put Johnson back there, he looked good with the ball in his hands Saturday. Time to change something up, Dan.</div>

Agreed...Perkins is not a good returner. A good returner(Leon Berry) runs full speed and tries to find a seem. Perkins tip toes looking for a seemand ends up getting piled up by all 11 guys.

isn't it? I think that's why the NFL moved the kickoff up to the 35, so they'd have more touchbacks and fewer runbacks. The players demanded it for safety.<div>
</div><div>I'm surprised college hasn't made the same move. Might just be a matter of time.</div>

I guess I wouldn't really put Banks back there, but any of the others should be fair game, to me. Especially the freshmen.<div>
</div><div>My main point is, we shouldn't be last in anything.</div>

We could probably have a much better return average if our return player would just run hard and fast and quit all the tippy-toeing. Dang, just hit the hole hard and keep digging!
