I'm expecting a good season next year, but I was just skimming the roster and 2013 looks to be setting up nicely in some key areas.
I have always thought in order to be strong in the SEC you need to have experience in the trenches and at QB. As it stands right now, we will have Russell and Dak both with experience returning in 2013. Our O-line will have the new JUCO guys as seniors, an experienced Day and Clausell, Gabe Jackson, Robinson, Desper, and several other young guys that will be fighting for a spot. We will lose several receivers, but Morrow will be experienced redshirt soph, Sanders, Jameon Lewis, maybe Market, etc. TE's should be strong with the young guys and Malcolm Johnson. Running backs will have a Senior in Perkins, Griffin will be a junior, and Robinson should be experienced by then.
The defense should still be stout. Whitley should be our senior safety, d arrington, tons of young talent at DB plus Redmond and the new guys. If we get the Browns our LB core should be strong, and the D-line should be really good for the foreseeable future.
Would love for some of you guys to add to this or tell me where I'm wrong in my thinking, but it looks like the best is yet to come with the way our staff is building this team. I think the O-line is what I'm excited about, because if they continue to progress that could be a strong point for us. I really wish we could have grabbed a good WR or two the last few years so Dak and Russ would have several targets...am I missing some key WR's other than Morrow?
Just bored and looking ahead. Thoughts?
