Cohen says that we have 19 pitchers that can throw 90 MPH+. When he first got here, I would imagine it was probably 1-2 guys that could do that, and the ones that could were guys like Devin Jones who lacked command.
It also sounds like their grades are good- of course if they win I don't care what kind of grades they have, but no doubt that is a positive. It helps with recruiting because parents have a lot of input in their child's decision- directly or indirectly. When they see that academics are a priority, it helps our cause.
I want us to go to Omaha this year. Reason being we need to continue to build on the progress that has been made. I won't jump off of a cliff if we don't make it- but at the minumum hosting a regional and going to or hosting a SR would be really good goals for our team to have.
I believe that to win a National Championship in baseball, having experience in Omaha is one of the biggest advantages a team can have. Of course to do that, you've got to have pitching, defense, and a balanced offense. Being in the SEC helps out a lot with that too. The competition we face in the SEC won't be any tougher than what we will face in Omaha.
