I like what I am reading about our baseball team

Cohen says that we have 19 pitchers that can throw 90 MPH+. When he first got here, I would imagine it was probably 1-2 guys that could do that, and the ones that could were guys like Devin Jones who lacked command.

It also sounds like their grades are good- of course if they win I don't care what kind of grades they have, but no doubt that is a positive. It helps with recruiting because parents have a lot of input in their child's decision- directly or indirectly. When they see that academics are a priority, it helps our cause.

I want us to go to Omaha this year. Reason being we need to continue to build on the progress that has been made. I won't jump off of a cliff if we don't make it- but at the minumum hosting a regional and going to or hosting a SR would be really good goals for our team to have.

I believe that to win a National Championship in baseball, having experience in Omaha is one of the biggest advantages a team can have. Of course to do that, you've got to have pitching, defense, and a balanced offense. Being in the SEC helps out a lot with that too. The competition we face in the SEC won't be any tougher than what we will face in Omaha.

But you know what they say about MSU baseball players- they like to do things that can cause Moutrie knee, but they're too smart to get caught with Moultrie Knee.

Or maybe we should call it Papelbon elbow.

for now- but I think we will be OK. We are a lot younger, but I also think we are more talented than last years team. We are going to need CT Bradford and Daryl Norris to step up. Brownlee needs to stay healthy and continue to be a good leader. I also think Adam Frazier will be pretty good this year as well.

So, the key is going to be for guys like Hunter Renfroe, Demarcus Henderson, and Wes Rea to step up and also it would be nice if Brandon Woodruff and Nick Flair can adjust to SEC ball quickly.

and DH as well as pitch in middle relief. I think he will see most of his action at third.

Wes Rea and Trey Porter are going to compete at first base, but I think Flair could push Norris to DH as well as maybe Brayden Jones and Demarcus Henderson.

We'll find a way to get his bat in the lineup. He has closed his stance and I think that along with being stronger will help him to hit with more power.

How's he doing? It seems like I remember he was struggling with injuries last season... Will he see significant time this year?<div>

Because he can play a lot of different positions. It sounds like Cohen is going to start Frazier at SS, but I think by the time SEC play starts, we'll probably end up seeing Frazier at 2B and Henderson at SS because Demarcus has a little bit more range in my opinion.

Demarcus can also play in the outfield as well.

His injury was what amounted to needing Lasix surgery on his eyes, which he has had. They want to reshirt him, and the only way to get him one now is a medical redshirt. That's why they basically shut him down last year. Otherwise, he is fine.
