terrible is not accurate.

Granted our record sucks, but Croom was just terrible. It was more the playcalling, etc than the talent. Under Croom, I think we averaged 8 pts per game...may be wrong, but I think that was about it.

I think Mullen is a great coach and will do better still, but I don't buy the narrative that we were so bad and he brought us from ground up. We had some talent, our coaching just sucked hard when he got here. We have not recruited better thanw did then, at least not by muh if any that I can see. We do have some 4 stars committed this year , if we keep them.

Tyson Lee was the QB when Dan got here. I'd say our talent level was not too good.

I think we are much better off with skill guys.

We at least have some guys that appear to be SEC caliber athletes. We are recruiting solid QBs and RBs and have some speedy (better, not where it needs to be though) guys to play WR and DBs.

My problem is that we still don't have an OL or DL that can hold it's own against the SEC elite. We can talk coaching, X's/O's, scheme, etc. until we are blue in the face, we aren't going to compete at the highest level until we have a solid two deep on both lines. It all starts up front on both sides of the ball - especially in the SEC.

You just named 4 players. How about naming a WR, DB, or depth at any position.

It wasn't just playcalling, it was also being terrible at teaching fundamentals on offense (and then on defense when Ellis Johnson left), and not requiring the players to stay in shape.

As far as talent, Croom left Mullen with playmakers, but a woefully incomplete roster. Now we have a complete roster that top to bottom is better than it's been in the while, but we are missing playmakers.
