Remember the days when RU had a featured back that would get 90% of the carries and just brutalize a D-Line into submission instead of this ludicrous, unsuccessful RB by committee nonsense?
Remember the days when RU had an offensive line that actually blocked people? When that feature back would be 5 yards into the secondary before anyone touched him? And they didn't take him out when he was getting a rhythm?
I do. I also remember people complaining nobody else got carries, we had no back up with experience, and how guys would get worn out
You never heard that from this people.
I was raised on Emmit Smith making D's puke by the 4th quarter.
I loved that strategy.
That strategy works when you have superiority in the trenches. Dallas had Larry Allen, one of the best guards of all time and a Hall of Famer. Nate Newton, Erik Williams, and Mark Tuinei were borderline Hall of Famers.
Wanna open a huge, semi-OR can of worms? If we hadn't overused Rice like we did, he may have had a better last year before the suspension, and might have then gotten a second chance after it. That's a long winded way of saying we used him too much and shortened his NFL career.
BL is probably my favorite player of all time. Class guy all around. I would think he would have the disposition to be a coach.

To me coach Schiano offered a glimmer of hope when he recruited Brian Leonard, Mike Teel, Courtney Green and the McCourty twins. When Ray Rice came on board with K. Britt I thought the sky was the limit. Yes, RU AL is correct about BL but I attribute two things to the turnaround. It was Brian Leonard and Green decommitting ftom Cuse and agreeing to come here. But please let's not forget those Florida kids who truly turned the program around.

One More thing, please bring the Student section back to the corner of the stadium. I remember BL getting a screen pass from Ryan Hart blowing up an under sized CB and dragging the safety close to 10 yards before he eventually went down for a gain of 15 yards. Yes right in front of the old student section. It was pandemonium, the stadium exploded with excitement. That's what I miss.
