We never had a mad rush to the qb , unless it was against USA or Mid tn St. WHY WHY WHY?? We did have SUPPOSEDLY 2 ALL SEC db's and a Broomfield...that was soooooo good he had to get moved to Safety......F Johnny football...I want answers... i already know... we didnt have the beef up front.. Josh Boyd wasnt as good as adverstised unless Fletcher Cox was there... He's soft. That leaves unproven Denico and a host of others..... Banks blitzed a couple of times against Ole Miss. He blitzed leaving Moncreif one on one with Nickoe. Halfway to the QB he stopped and watched the ball go to Moncreif for his longest touchdown of the day.

We tried that corner blitz with Banks a number of times over the 2nd half of the season. I don't recall it working one damn time. I don't recall Banks even getting remotely close to registering a sack or TFL from it either. Johnny Football and Wallace read it everytime (it seemed) and threw over it.
However, at least once, we did blitz Broomfield in the Egg and he dropped Wallace.

I will never understand blitzing your best cover corner. I guess that's why I'm not coaching defense.
