I love the kids talking about the name on the front, but let's be honest. It's about being the best of the best, and that used to mean fanbase, tradition, and facilities (in no particular order). Now, it's about those things but also being the leader in NIL payment. Wilkerson made it clear, he wasn't just talking about not being the man, he was also talking about being paid as part of the pack, not the leader.

and unless something is done about it, its going to spiral out of control to the extent that college's financial stability is in jeopardy, as money that used to go to philanthropic, scholarships, or infrastructure is now earmarked by donors to make the sports programs the focal point of the university

So don't be surprised when a school comes in and buys a kid out from under you and don't denigrate a kid for changing his mind last minute to come to us.
