What is it like to be a fan of another school?i'd love to know-- do other fans have their hearts broken as often as we do? is the pain as frequent and does it cut as deep ?

Honestly, I wasn't brokenhearted ... we're not a good team, and I was just glad that we weren't blown out.
I was actually impressed with our defense, as the offense hung them to dry with the top in the game.

It is actually fun. I bleed Rutgers red but being married to an SC grad means I am fan of them too. There is no other option.
Some rough seasons as of late, but you know they will always do whatever it takes to win. Changing coaches, AD's, whatever. That is the difference between Rutgers and schools like SC. That makes rooting for schools like that a lot easier.
Rutgers is a hard deal. You'd be wise to develop an affiliation with another school in addition to. It makes it all a lot more fun.

My daughter goes to UGA. Every year they are supposed to be top 10. Every year they have a HUGE letdown game and don't live up to expectations.

We just don't average 9-10 wi s each year, but then again we never go into a season with national championship expectations.

My lovely bride is s UNC grad. So I should root for the Heels, per your logic, Cali? Too funny. No thanks. Love my wife, dearly and devotedly. But her Heels are not for me. I'll stick to RU. Being a fan is a test of character. Being an alumnus is not.
I actually posted this on tMb today. I know PSU isn't very good right now but it has to be very difficult being a UGA fan. They arguably do less with more than any other team in the country and haven't won anything for longer than PSU.
I wonder the same thing all the time. I was talking to my friend after the PSU loss and we both decided that being an RU fan should come with subsidized therapy and also that we were going to pick different teams for our mental health. I swear sometimes being a Rutgers fan feels like a co-dependent relationship.
It always hurts when RU loses, particularly in a game like this where a possible "W" seems right there, only to have it vanish before your eyes. -But I just can't get attached to any other team. RU is it for me; good, bad, or, on occasion, even really bad.
I did just this. My other teams (I kid you not) are Arkansas, then Nebraska, with Texas a very distant 4th. Rutgers fans need to be careful because life can be worse.
Well, He did last night and I hope that I am not punished for my thoughts about Chase Utley.
