It's getting hard to say which take in this thread is worse.
Option one: the original post and all follow ups from Plum, the legend in his own mind but almost nobody else's, stating that ND should have done the impossible. You cannot hire a coach that isn't interested in giving up his current job to take your job opening. There's no coach draft that can force him to go. Duh! It's like saying if I was the Jets' GM, I would have signed Patrick Mahomes instead of pursuing Rodgers.
Option two: kyk saying that NO OTHER SCHOOL would be willing to pay Pike what we are paying him. USA Today recently had him in the top five underpaid coaches in all of college basketball. He's 11th in B1G salaries according to the article. Without that massive buyout, we would be worried about poachers left and right.
