Yep. If that's the roster and we don't make the tournament then Pike would have a lot of explaining to do
We need another big in this situation.. can't have Hyatt starting at the 4 while Mag rehabs to start the season.
I don’t think there’s any question we will get a 4 from the portal. Nothing starter worthy because Mag will be playing the 4 when he’s healthy and kids know that.
Not sure how I see the roster is that much better than last year’s opening day roster when you lose the defensive player of the year.
I mean Mag will be back and that’s hugely important to anyone who watched the games last year.

Well in the case a lineup as good as opening day last year would be fantastic. The Mag lineup. It was trending awfully well till he went down.
It’s tough to make a living making Elite 8 predictions. Only 8 teams do it and the Tournament is so random and unforgiving.
There you go. Throw it out there. All good. I disagree just for getting older and deeper. Not to mention a proven PG who can do exactly what we need him to do, and 5 Star forward who can also do (on offense) what we need him to do. You can’t replace Caleb’s defense. But I think they will be better.
I think by Jan 1 Gavin is starting at the 3 ( Mag is back at the 4 ). Paul is coming off the bench to annoy the shut out of other teams Hyatt settles back to where he was last year coming off the bench ( which seemed to suit him )
A healthy Mag will be a candidate for DPOY. His defense was different than Caleb’s. Caleb would lockdown the best player while Mag was a disrupter of the other team’s ability to bring the ball up and get into their offense.
Offense takes 2 steps forward, defense 1 step back.. Cliff and Cam will be open a lot more with the additions of Gavin & Noah.. agree with the 22 wins. Sweet 16 caliber team, paving the way for final 4 caliber team in 2024

Simpson might not start, but he gets at least 25+ minutes from the get go.
Assuming no key injuries during the season and Mag is fully back by January, my expectation would be safely dancing, borderline top 25.
Fernandes is a big upgrade at PG.
Gavin's offense is an upgrade over Caleb, although that's a big loss on defense.

We will be better offensively. We saw that being good on defense wins some games, but being good on offense wins more.
I will confidently say this is the best bench in pikes tenure. Griffiths, Simpson, Hyatt, and wolf is a legitimately above average big10 bench.
With a reasonable portal 4/5 addition and Cliff and Paul back, this is a lock NCAA team IMO. With any modest improvements from Paul, Simpson and Woolfolk (2PPG higher per player), it's a Sweet 16 capable roster.
With no improvement from Cliff, Paul or anyone else, as long as we land the 4/5, we still are in the NCAAs.

Absolutely huge on both ends of the court.
We were 9-5 (and shoukd have been 10-4 ) witb a healthy roster …and only two of those wins were against cupcakes
That team was a legit top 25
We lost three non rotation guys to the portal and a big loss to caleb
We have additiona in Fernandez , Grifths and Davis
We might have addres enough depth , to our roster to be a 6 seed type next year

I could see 22 wins and 12-8 in league.

The monster ‘24 year arrives on the banks in one year and a bit. After this coming season, they arrive.
I wouldn’t put Griffiths on the bench for too long. He is a different level recruit. I expect him to be in the starting lineup if not on opening day then before too long.
Some improve, some stay the same and some don’t improve, right?
He’ll be in the starting lineup in Senegal and Portugal and any other country they play in
