I think it's Taylor because he is the most likely to be loyal if that's a word in todays college football world. And the main reason - I think he is better. The only thing Kromenhoek has over Taylor is some experience.Whoever wins the #2 job. Most likely Luke.
Do you think we can get 8 games out of Shapen or is that going to be a long stretch?I think it's Taylor because he is the most likely to be loyal if that's a word in todays college football world. If he's better this fall, absolutely play him. I really doubt that though. I get that everyone wants Taylor to be the next Dak, but the fact is Luke was higher rated coming out of high school than Taylor was plus he has a year of experience in a P4 conference. I suspect he's the better player today, and this fall. And the loyalty argument is meaningless. If Taylor is as good as y'all say he is, he'll be gone in a year or two.I think it's Taylor because he is the most likely to be loyal if that's a word in todays college football world. Still boggles my mind we paid the money to LK. Seemed like we just wanted a recruiting win. I get the value in having a quality backup. Especially when your starter has an injury history. But paying a kid to hold a clipboard and then leave seems suboptimal. Hopefully I'm wrong and he's the next mayor of Starkville.I think it's Taylor because he is the most likely to be loyal if that's a word in todays college football world. I think we paid him because we expect he will play, either this year or next year. And I expect he will. I'm no Lebby fan, but he's not that stupid.Still boggles my mind we paid the money to LK. That’s funny right there.Taylor, we need someone who can pick up yards by scrambling with this matador offensive line.
KaMario Taylor or Luke Kromenhoek
I will be shocked is Shapen doesn't take every snap until (unless) he gets hurt.Honest question - is Shapen really going to be the starter? It was my impression they Kromenhoek was going the dude, why we paid him the money. Otherwise why did we do that when we need o-lineman?
Pat it's a stretch to say he has a years experience, he started the last 2 games against Charleston Southern and Flarda. Otherwise he had mop up duty in 4 other games and in 3 of those he was less than 50% in completions, and was only 5-8 in the one he was over 50%. He threw 3 TD passes all of last season, all against lowly 1-11 Charleston Southern and had 2 interceptions elsewhere. He had 113 yds rushing last season, 78 of those were on just 3 rushes. His upside seems to be high but I think he has a long way to goplus he has a year of experience in a P4 conference.
He's got a year in the program and saw significant action vs. Florida, Notre Dame and Miami. Yes his stats weren't good, but his team was awful. In any case, his experience is not even comparable to Taylor's. It's going to take something special from Taylor to beat him out. And maybe he will. But I really don't think Lebby signs him if he thinks Taylor is going to be ready to play this fall.Pat it's a stretch to say he has a years experience, he started the last 2 games against Charleston Southern and Flarda. That’s exactly what it was. Lost VB cause we thought we had Arnold, then scrambled around and overpaid for LK. None of it made sense.Still boggles my mind we paid the money to LK. It will 100% be Shapen. Lebby loves him and that's his guy. Straight from the "GM" of our program.I will be shocked is Shapen doesn't take every snap until (unless) he gets hurt.
Yep, if the answer isn’t Luke, that is a serious indictment on Lebby’s ability to evaluate and disperse NIL funds. That kid didn’t come for free, and you can’t pay for that type of talent for them to be 3rd string on a bad teamStill boggles my mind we paid the money to LK. I’m afraid that Barrett’s got some bad news for the poor kidYes his stats weren't good, but his team was awful.
We "had" to overpay, unfortunately. I would have taken a chance and bought a OT or DT. I don't expect him to be any more loyal to us than he was to FSU.I think we paid him because we expect he will play, either this year or next year. And I expect he will. I'm no Lebby fan, but he's not that stupid.
Let's just go ahead and not expect ANY player to be loyal. Because they won't. I don't know if we overpaid for him or not, but I suspect we paid what we thought was a smart amount to pay for a #2 QB who has a good chance to start for the last half of the season and probably all of the next season or two. I would have loved to have taken a few good OT and DT. And I'm sure Lebby would have too. But we completely failed on that front. We "had" to overpay, unfortunately. You play the player that gives you the best chance to win that game, period.KaMario Taylor or Luke Kromenhoek
Exactly. I don’t know why that’s so hard for so many to understand. In the words of former Redskins coach George Allen, the future is now.You play the player that gives you the best chance to win that game, period.
If it’s Luke, play him. You coach to win the 17ing game!
I don't see it. If we don't beat Az State, we will need to beat 2 SEC teams.ESPN computer predicted we win 4. I'll take it.
I’m taking the under. Barely.ESPN computer predicted we win 4. I'll take it.
We’d only need 1 SEC win. Which is 1 more than we’ll probably get.I don't see it. If we don't beat Az State, we will need to beat 2 SEC teams.
This isn’t even remotely true…. Why do you continue to present false informationThat’s exactly what it was. Lost VB cause we thought we had Arnold, then scrambled around and overpaid for LK. None of it made sense.
And you know this how about our OL?Taylor, we need someone who can pick up yards by scrambling with this matador offensive line.
You don’t want to go into a season with two QBs with one being a Sr and the other being a true freshman. LK is a tremendous talent as is Taylor but no way you would ever just carry two QBs. Next spring you will two elite QBs battling for the starting job.I couldn't care less that Mvb left. He was undersized. However, I don't get signing LK when you know you have KT.
I like LK. I hope he is awesome. I don't think he will get a fair shot at QB1 though.
Ummm, two SEC games? Your math ain't mathing.I don't see it. If we don't beat Az State, we will need to beat 2 SEC teams.
