I'm curious to know how some of you think we dismantled UNC last year in our Bowl game?

Forget Flood for a minute. No need to rehash what many of you have said 10 Jagaloonlilion times.

How did we totally dismantle UNC last season in our Bowl? It must have been 100% due to Fridge, right? I mean everyone here has said how bad Nova sucked so he had no role in that success. Everyone here has said how bad our recruiting has been so we did not win based on our talent edge. We cannot blame it on the guys who were suspended or the injuries to Hamilton and Carroo because that would be giving Flood an excuse for this god awful season and nobody here will do that.

So I think we just need Fridge back, play in the ACC and we too can be a Top 20 team as soon as next season. I'm in.

Senior Gary Nova was much better than our QB this year. Our secondary Much better as well. Team obviously wanted it more than UNC and UNC's QB Marquise Williams had a bad day.

UNC had a pattern of getting blown-out every other week. The week of RU game local papers had headlines like "Which NC football team will show up vs Rutgers?"

2014

East Carolina Pirates Lost 70-41
Clemson Tigers Lost 50-35
Virginia Tech Lost 34-17
Notre Dame Lost 50-43
Miami (FL) Hurricanes Lost 47-20
NC State Lost 35-7
RU Lost 40-21

It was those extra 15 practices. Instead of using them to develop underclassmen, Flood used them to develop a senior 4 year starter quarterback.

Also NC fired the DC a few weeks prior to the bowl, and their D was in disarray. Hicks had a monster game because it was only a two man rotation and a one man rotation after Martin pulled the Hammie. Also our O line simply blew up the NC D line

Nova is a lot better than most of our fans believe. We would have 1-2 more wins this year WSU and maybe MIch St. Some fans don't know when they have a good one just like Schiano.

We had a more veteran O-line last season.

Senior Nova was a jagaloon times better than our starting QB this year. Good QB play can mask a lot of weaknesses. Bad QB play? Well, you're seeing the results.

It was Flood's five star coaching obviously....we are so luck to have him lead our team to great victory

Martin pulled his hammy pretty late in the came, he already had 100 yards. Hicks had a big run late.

This team is different than last year's because we lost our qb, our fb, our te, 3/5 of our O-line, and our star wr for a significant portion of the season. On defense we had to replace 3 of 4 on the d-line, one lb, and our entire secondary. Obviously RU didn't do a very good job of filling these holes.

When you are terrible at recruiting, the replacement players aren't as good as the graduating players.

Yep, UNC was in total disarray, having off the field woes and blown out at home by NC State. If you followed them, they did not even want to bowl against RU, thought it was below them.

No, it absolutely wasn't 100% due to Fridge. The Tar Heels’ 497.8 yards allowed was the fourth-worst in ACC history. That's a lot of crap defenses over the years. Their scoring defense was about as bad. This year they hired Chizik and that improved to 21st in the country in scoring at 19.5 ppg.

UNC was the least interested mess of a team that I've ever seen in a bowl. If you watched the game, particularly watched UNC, you'd be much less impressed at the victory than the numbers would suggest.

And Nova was very good last year. Most people have said that, most know it. Keep up.

NC has a senior quarterback. Schedule is easier too, do not play Notre Dame this year and beat two FCS teams also.

I'll answer the question with a question. How did we give Maryland
a five touchdown lead and made it all up with crazy great offense?
