I totally agree but to me it isn’t so much about cal as it is dedicating annual resources to our flagship program. Whoever the coach they should never feel like they publicly have to plea for updated facilities. I’m of the mind that UK athletics should have an ad who is a better steward of our tradition. It doesn’t have to be done at the expense of other sports. Barney is so passive aggressive that he can’t take cal on after a losing season he has to use the players training facility to take him on. It’s terrible management and no one has been worse for uk basketball than Barney

It is well documented that the Basketball team had a losing season year before last. People seem to forget that the football team was 4-6 (5-6) year before last. The reason? This is a basketball school... Still, Cal shouldn't have said so during an interview.
Stoops has built a middle of the road SEC program but we should not forget that a chance was taken on him. He was and is paid very well and the football facilities are light years ahead of when Rich Brooks was here. Brooks proved we could build something here but Joker couldn't keep it going.

What Cal said just came across very odd, especially using nsmes of other schools, but what he said is true. I'm proud of both football and badketball as well as other sport's at UK. After observing things for a couple of days Barney wasn't far off about the media, they're like a bunch of piranhas on a feeding frenzy at the moment.

Like many of you, I have experience some pretty agonizing UK football seasons. We've come a long way and had a lot of success under Stoops. I'm extremely excited to have a competitive football team. I go into games against Georgia thinking it's a long shot, but just maybe. I used to do that against every team we played.

And so it blows my mind people acting like we need to remind them of their place. Some things just don't benefit anyone by saying it.

This is interesting to me. Could you detail how and who pays 95% of Cal’s salary? So only 5% comes from any money earmarked to UK?

It's always about revenue and because of that, UKBB is not the "flagship" program "within the halls of the Athletic Department". That may be true in the minds of some fans, but revenue is what matters, and that cash cow will be well fed, and should be.
