Gotta wonder what the guy said about his wife for him to go off the deep end like that. Still a mystery. Starts with an R. Coincidence? I think not.

Indian Wants Me was the first 45 I ever bought. And please...nobody asks what a 45 is/was.

I actually laughed out loud at that, RARA. I think the only other 45 I ever bought was Mama's Pearl, by the Jackson 5. But, Sylvia's Mother would have been a good one too.

And here it is for you to regret not having bought it back in the day. :)

Dude, I owe you a beer. That was a trip.
So, here's the thing. I play bass. I play all original stuff. I'm sitting here playing and you post this. Now, here I sit, trying to make Sylvia's Mother sound funky. And you know what? It's kinda' working.
But, more than that, Thanks for taking the time to bring me back to a time where life was way simpler and less stressful. Funny how the music from when we were kids can do that. And now, back to funking up Sylvia's Mother. I guess that makes me a mother funker.

Remember that song so well, and as Altrev said, those songs bring me back to such a simple time in life. We might have to have a get-together of RU folks for the simple purpose of playing these simple songs and getting simple again. I can feel the smiles!

had to put this oldie in here.... for me, I appreciated this song more as time went on..... I believe the astronauts played it on Apollo 13, if the
movie was accurate...

^^Great tune! I hear it about once every two or three years and it always brings me back.

And here's one that I have not heard since I was a kid--I had to listen to the lyrics since I'd totally forgotten them except when he sang the title in the refrain.

I remember "Indiana Wants Me" from my younger days. Liked the song but it frightened me for some reason, though not as much as "Eve of Destruction" which came out a few years earlier and really scared me when I was about 5 years old.

I could see how that song would scare a five-year-old, no doubt. In honor of that, and in honor of our upcoming game against Michigan (even though it happened on Lake Superior)--this one would probably scare a five-year-old due to its eeriness, but what a song. I loved it when songs told stories.
