Nebraska's most hated rival are the teams from the 90s, and anything Osborne touched since.

I personally don't regard Iowa as anything other than a team to beat in the conference. Sorry if that disappoints.

Oklahoma would be the most respected rival... Texas or Colorado the most hated, if they could be considered rivals.

Not here to flame, I'm just curious. If not, then who is it?

Oklahoma. Always has been, always will be.

That said, I think Iowa is becoming a decent rival. Their internet fans are certainly annoying enough to ratchet up a good dose of intense dislike for their program.

In all seriousness, I have a lot more respect for Iowa than I ever had for Colorado. In person, Hawkeye fans are great--the same can not be said for Colorado fans, who manage to be among the worst in-person and online both. Iowa City is a great road trip every other year, Kinnick is one of the best stadiums I've been to, and there's no doubt that you've got us beat in the tailgaiting department.

This series is tied at 3 since we entered the conference. We're both looking up at the Ohio States of the world, but like Michigan State, Wisconsin's program is cyclical and will eventually fall back to Earth. And when it does, hopefully Nebraska and Iowa will be in position to start playing for bigger prizes than division runner-up on Black Fridays to come.

Oklahoma ended when the Big XII formed. No one can convince me otherwise. Iowa is getting there. Still hate Colorado. Really hate Mizzou. Do Hawkeyes feel the rivalry forming with us?

Good thing you didn't live in Colorado during the late eighties through 2010, you might think different of them and their fans.

That just points out what end of the state you live in West Colorado East Iowa...

Nobody in the Big gets me excited in the least with the exception of OSU, Michigan, and to a smaller degree Penn State.

Right smack in the Denver metro area, not western Colorado. And no way in hell is Iowa the team or their fans as bad as Colorado or their fans.
Hey.. back in 1946 they were! Remember?

Missed the part about you living in Denver, no Iowa fans are not as bad as the ones I ran into in Boulder several times but teams are a different story.

Colorado players who played in those years still talk about how much they hate Nebraska, they had very little, if any, respect. Guess that comes from winning very few times from 1960-2010. That and a few coaches for Colorado that fanned the flames.

Was there for the 1986 Downing of the goal post after the 20-10 loss my father and I were called fu__ing hicks and a few other pleasantries...

McCartney was the one that made Nebraska the hated rivalry game and it was noted in the 30/30 about their national title they won the year of the 5th down.

Was there as well, didn't expect Nebraska to lose that day. 1987 was even worse with their fans, thankfully Keith Jones ran all over them.

I don't know that we hate anyone in the Big 10. We had bad blood with Colorado, KState and Missouri. We wanted those wins bad.

Iowa has earned our respect I think. It could become a nice circle the calendar game. We need to hold our end up better.

Living on the western side of the state of Iowa, and now in South Dakota I feel it is a rivalry because of the amount of fans for both teams in the area

A loss or win over Iowa is no greater than a loss or win over Minnesota or Illinois. No flame, I'm just not as emotionally involved with playing Iowa as former rivals.

Not sure about most hated, but it is abundantly clear that Iowa fans are the most desperate for attention from Nebraska fans - based on the amount of their fans over here looking for approval.
Have you been to the Iowa board after an Iowa loss? Plenty of Husker fans there to rub it in.

It's definitely a rivalry with most of my Facebook friends. A lot of trash talk. As has been said numerous times, once the division is on the line, it will be a rivalry.

Never been to an Iowa board - period. Never posted on any another team's board - period. In general, if you are posting on another team's board, you are either an epic loser or desperate for attention.

Show some class... yeah some of the Iowa posters have been bad, but I'm quite surprised at the number who have been respectful... and the OP is just asking an honest question... no need for this imo.

Everyone can beat their chests about Oklahoma in the past - but do you realize that ship and Husker program sailed long ago? Imagine what we would think of the Oklahoma rivalry if it would have stayed in tact in the 90's? We would have won a few more and they would have owned us through the 2000's, just like every other decent program has. Sooners moved on and we should too. We are not a rival to anyone right now because we pose no threat.

I am transplanted Husker living in SW Iowa. There is nobody they hate losing to more than Nebraska from my perspective. And now I must wait another year to quiet the banter. Most of it is good natured, these guys are my coworkers,we raised our kids together. So in my case "YES" it is a budding rivalry. You can't get the sense of it from inside the borders of the state of Big Red.

Oh, ok. I didn't realize that. Someone told me Iowa had won 3 of the last 4. They must have been lying.
Seriously? Since joining the conference it is 3-3... don't be thick.

Keep it up and pound your chest all you want. But 3-3 is not domination in anyone's book except Iowa fan. Guess you've dominated Iowa State the last 10 games as well, huh?

It's a rivalry insomuch that I dislike the Iowa football program solely because of their respective fan's behavior on this board.

There were about 3-4 Iowa posters here prior to the game. And they were, for the most part, respectful. Now the board is riddled with countless, low-browed Iowa posters seeking a proverbial pat-on-the-back for beating Nebraska - while simultaneously bashing the Nebraska program. I find it annoying, pathetic, and ironic.

We don't have any history in the BIG and thus really have no rivals

Likewise no one considers us their rival due to the above and furthermore it is hard to consider a middling BIG team a rival. Nebraska is just another average to slightly above average conference opponents on the schedule.

The only history we would have would be with Minnesota because we have played them 57 times which is more than Ohio State has ever played Minnesota being in the original conference.
