He's already proven it for me. Say what you want about not quite meeting fan expectations and all that, but he's done something that no one in the history of MSU football has ever done in getting us to 4 straight bowl games(and most likely a 5th straight). Oh, that's easier now that there are so many bowl games? Well, tell that Arkansas and Ole Miss. It's tough to create a culture of consistent winning in SEC football and while our ceiling may not be as high as we'd all like, he has undoubtedly moved our floor a long way.
If we win 7 games this year, the main thing that it will have proven to me is that we're going to have to keep recruiting like we're doing so far with our 2015 class. It would be pretty clear to me at that point that the talent that Mullen has gotten here in his last 5 classes is just not going to get us beyond 7-8 wins.
