Requirement is previous head coach experience. He has none. As a coordinator or HC.But this is Richmond county. Decision has probably already been made. We just don't know.
Usually pre hire job requirements are preferred rather than mandatory. What if no one with HC experience applied? Would they just not hire anyone to coach? (I do believe some have applied with HC experience).
Just saying not having previous HC experience may not disqualify someone altogether even though it is preferred that they have it.

Don't worry.. The aforementioned prospect has a campaign manager and has already spoken with the "right" people. Ads in the Daily journal. Facebook campaign going. You know some people think requirements don't apply to them.

That is not typical. In fact, most schools in NC AND SC with recent/current vacancies for head coach do NOT require head coaching experience.
I didn't choose teaching or coaching as a career... but the NEW requirement in Richmond County did spark an interest in the requirements set forth by other counties. I urge you to check those out while sitting in your classroom before you make statements that are so broad

Double R, I did not choose a classroom, but have a lot of friends & connections in right places. So, when I say head coaching experience is required in many places, I'm not just whistling dixie. It may not have head coach experience listed as a requirement, but if you want to get an interview, that's 1st thing they look at. It's also the1st thing they'll tell you for why you aren't getting an interview. Richmond chose to list it as a requirement. Guess they had a reason.
