What Brewster has accomplished in just 5 months is nothing short of amazing. Someone is going to take not and try to lure him away.

I know he's got his name attached to a few recruits who are now showing interest. And he might end up being a great recruiter. Has he gotten us a big 4-5 star recruit yet? I'm just wondering so don't drain your lizard on me.

He's gotten us 2 inevitable 4-5*s in the class of 2016 -- including the MVP and most charismatic player on TeamUSA -- who has 3 more teammates ALREADY looking at us closely. That's fairly likely to turn into 5 or 6 commitments from some of the absolute best in the country. Say what you want about it being early, alot changing, etc -- but there is NO downside in this for us. It's nothing but good press.

Donald Gray 4*
The 2014 kid in Memphis...I forget his name

Irving-Sills high 3* with a huge offer sheet. Watch his film, he's underrated. Expect that commitment -- although I wouldn't be surprised if he put it off until after this upcoming weekend
Put us back in the game with 4/5* Jalen Ramsey
Got us in the game and has kept us there with 4/5* Elijah Daniel
Got 4/5* Toby Johnson coming next weekend -- who had all but written us off until we took Wilson off him and put Brew on him.
Has been the single factor keeping us in the game with Tony Conner.
Got 5* MacKensie and high 3* Mackenro Alexander coming to visit this weekend -- and I wouldn't be surprised if both committed this weekend.

He's our best current recruiter by a ways -- and he's only been on the job for 5 months -- plus he didn't have the name recognition to make an immediate splash in the manner that Deshea Townsend does. Every recruit that I've seen interviewed talk about how much they like him -- and he's got a handful of national guys looking at MSU that have NEVER looked our way before. It's not his fault that we lost position coaches at the 2 spots where he was REALLY on the national blue-chip guys...and that still may end up working out with the new hires. Let's see what he does with a full year under his belt in 2014 -- because if this has been any indication thusfar, it's going to blow people's minds...

I'm really hoping we add "asst hc" to his title. I think he's happy being here and I hope he never leaves.

That's fine -- but what's the downside? We've got the best personality on TeamUSA recruiting for us constantly at a very early age -- which at least makes kids look at us that otherwise never would. That's a good thing.

How in the world will they sign with us if we are not seriously recruiting them.

Until Brewster got here, we were not a blip on their radar.

never said it wasnt a good thing and never said he wasnt a good recruiter...I was really sincere when I asked... "have I missed something" I was just wondering who he's recruiting? You basically answered that in your first reply.

How about coming back on Feb. 4 and tell us what you think?

If a position coach signs 3 4-5 star recruits, he's in the running for Top 20 recruiter in the nation. They're writing articles about that guy. Brewster already has 1 for this class. We've got 4-6 spaces left. We're taking best available (and a QB). Who are the lead candidates to fill these spaces? Yep, Brewster recruits.

Here's Brewster's hit-list:
Daniel
Ramsey
Alexander (x2)
Irvin-Sills
Gray
Wilson
Carr????

We have a shot with all these guys except Ramsey. All these guys will have stepped foot on the holy land. If our facilities are supposed to attract the best athletes, how will they see them unless they visit?

I agree with the rest. While your point could be valid about us being Emm-Stake and all on signing day, YOU are the one who was hatin' on Brewster, BEFORE signing day has even arrived.

I like our chance. MacKensie (the 5* one) is coming this weekend with all the Mississippi player. His brother is coming in next weekend.

They are coming in different weekends so they can have different individual
experiences and not be grouped together. I wasn't for that at first but makes sense.

Really hope we can grab them both. This is shaping up to be the one of the best if not the best recruiting class we have ever had, gotta love it!

Engie, where do you think we stand with the Alexander brothers?

I think we sit very, very well. VERY well if the visits go according to plan. I wasn't aware about their visit being divided up like this -- that news must have just hit today because last night every site had them listed to be visiting together -- I wish they were coming together honestly.

What this does is basically guarantee that MacKensie won't commit on his visit -- he will wait until Mackenro visits at the very earliest. Of the two, I'm definitely more confident that I know where MacKensie stands -- and I think we sit VERY well with him. I have no idea about Mackenro -- and that's what is going to make/break the entire deal IMO. I've been saying for 2 months now that we needed to be recruiting him even harder than MacKensie -- and I think we have been.

Mackenro is one of the most underrated players I've watched to be honest with you. He's a S that had to play linebacker this year to help his team out -- so playing out of position has probably hurt him in rankings. He was still an absolute STUD at LB and won some regional POY honor over his brother. Had 4 or 5 pick 6s this year. He's bigger than Mackensie -- and just a SHADE slower...

Is there any word as to how Elijah Daniel's in home visit went tonight with Mullen and Co.?

“It went really, really great,” Daniel said. “They were here for about two hours, two and a half hours. I thought it went real good.”

247 guy in his area says that he thinks MSU is his family's choice, but the kid's choice is Florida.

If we do, in fact, have momma, I like our chances.

Article and comments definitely sound positive for us....

I understand that but you can put it to good probality since i never seen an entire class of 20 + commits flip on signing day so only about maybe 3-4 that do flip maybe last week on worse case scenario. Also you will never think you nor State or anyone associated with yourself can accomplish anything if all you have in your head is "i cant, we cant, failiure". Then you will fail or come up short everytime self- confidence is key essential to success because if you don't think you can how can you expect to others think your able.

Brewster has got guys to just come visited that wouldnt have - Elijah Daniel, Alexander twins, Toby Johnson, Chapelle we havent got to his first signing day so you dont know anything.

He did back in November. I don't think he has plans to visit again this month as of right now.

Per a Gator fan on the Rant...

Looks like Daniel didn't get the necessary grades in the fall to attend UF. Muschamp has cancelled his upcoming in-home with Daniel and Danie's upcoming official visit, which was scheduled for February 2nd.

Still think we've got ground to make up to overcome the Nkemdiche factor that OM has working in their favor. Time will tell if we did this on the in-home visit. Worth noting that he has already taken OVs to both schools -- and Freeze's in-home is still coming up later this week...

Engie, just saw something that may be worth nothing. Scott Austin ('13 WR commit) just followed Ole Miss, Ole Miss Athletics, and Hugh Freeze on twitter and I have not heard anything about him coming in for an OV recently. Maybe im looking into this much, but what are your thoughts?

Meh... Freeze has certainly been chasing him. We've got the Derrick Jones trump card though, who I believe may be a better receiver based on the limited amount I saw/heard from the Ms/Ala all-star game.

At LEAST 2 huge in-home visits going on right now boys. Keep your fingers crossed...

I believe Dobbs and Conner.

Yea, I am expecting some indecision out of the Conner camp in the morning. No way he sits down with Deshea and doesn't come away at least "considering" us. I believe we will get a visit, but it will still be very unlikely that he signs with anyone but OM this late in the game.

I agree. Any reasonable person would have to consider the opportunity to come play for a guy that has "trained" you for three years, played 12 years in the NFL, has 2 Super Bowl rings and has coached in the NFL.

Of course, there is nothing reasonable about recruiting or anything that goes on in that county as it relates to recruiting.
