He just set Storm Lake’s all time leading scoring record of 1440 yesterday at OA-BCIG, DeJeans’s old stomping ground.

I think Iowa had a real shot at him if Fran had stayed. He announced for Creighton a few months after Fran was let go.

Who knows, maybe the Coon to Iowa saga may not be over if Creighton continues on this path. He must like the coach in-waiting quite a bit cause Mac will be done soon.

I believe it was rumored at the time Iowa had NO shot had Fran stayed.

As others have mentioned he might have gotten involved too late, and Omaha is quite a bit closer to home than Iowa City. Besides Creighton has been pretty solid in hoops for awhile.

You can't walk to Kinnick from your dorm at Creighton though. 🙂
Surprised he took a pass on Illinois….🤔

See the article posted above. Doesn't sound like a kid looking around, and he apparently likes Asst. Coach Huss too. McDermott's coach in waiting when he retires it appears.

Storm Lake (10-1), beat the #4 big school team in Nebraska in triple OT.

Never say never, but the mast on that ship is getting smaller and smaller as it sails away. 😉

Was about to start a thread on whether Iowa could flip him or not.
Hopefully he likes what he’s seen at Iowa.

Sounds like it is a no but you would have think that he is looking at the two seasons comparatively and think that maybe Iowa is on the rise while Creighton seems to really be struggling compared to their normal standards.

As a Catholic I’m sad to see the Big East as a whole is really struggling this year.
just like the church itself I guess

Yep, Big East is way down this year, except of course UConn. Marquette hasn’t been this bad in forever and this is the worse Creighton has been in a long time. And they tried to hype St. John’s as a top 5 team to start the year and they’re not good either.
