JCJC wins NJCAA men's basketball title...

First championship in men's basketball ever for a Mississippi community college. The Bobcats were the 11-seed and defeated the 22-seed (24-team tournament), 6-seed, 3-seed, 2-seed, and 1-seed to win.

This was the Bobcats' first appearance in the national tournament.

JCJC has three freshmen players from Brooklyn (that's the one in New York, not Forrest County, Mississippi). There was a story in the New York Times about them a few days ago. One of them - Leroy Fludd - was named Tournament MVP.

Their best sophomore is Johnny Zuppardo who was previously on USM's and Arkansas State's rosters and played for current Jones coach Jay Ladner at St. Stanislaus.

The Bobcats also have the #1 ranked baseball team in the country and football finished #6.

And Mark Easley has taken both the men's and women's tennis teams to the national tournament fairly regularly.

Saw yesterday in the Laurel paper that JCJC had made the final four. Shame on the Clarion Ledger that they didn't even have one word about it in Saturday's paper.

Should we assume your gripe is because its not about MSU sports because if so, looking down the list of topics on the first page I see one about golf in Mobile, MMA fight, NCAA selection committee being crooked, Cotton Mill convention center, worst companies you've dealt with etc etc. Did you forget to chime in on those too?
