Was rumors of him exploring options in SC the last two years so that could be it......i dont think he was scared of the competition would of had a good group returning to play for him next including probably the odds on favorite to win player of the year in the conference next year LB/RB Javonte Williams.....who knows what the real reason is but with 5 state titles he is one of the best wish him luck

Wow !!!!!!....But I would think that there could be a South Carolina offer....Retire in NC....then work in SC.....don't blame him at all...

Besides he has done it all....time for a new challenge.....They play a different caliber of football in South Carolina so this should be a great challenge for him....

The reason they play a different caliber of ball in South Carolina than North Carolina is because the NCHSAA has got to get the medieval thinking out of their NCHSAA way of thinking and start doing some of the things the GHSA in Georgia, the VHSL in Virginia and the South Carolina high school association does. The AD's and head coaches got to speak out more branch out and play more good teams from other states like the states mentioned above.

Yep. Your right. I don't know him. Didn't say anything bad about him. Sorry for your lose. Hope you get to feeling better. You seem upset. Maybe y'all will find someone to help that pain you are having. By the way see if you can get some upgrades to that high school with all that gate money y'all have taken in at state championship games. Those Kids deserve better.

A blind man could have coached at Wallace the last few years and win....Price just happen to be the LUCKY one. High school sports is all about timing. Good LUCK to Coach Price in his retirement.

I notice from another thread that you are a coach and teacher in NC. I find that hard to believe. Some of the things you have been saying may have some truth to them. But one thing I do know is that you could not have done the job. If you are a coach then Coach Price must have spanked your a$$ a few times.

I respect Coach Price. He walks the walk. I respect all head coaches who are actually in the arena fighting the fight instead of on the sideline talking about how they would do it. It takes a lot of mental toughness to be a head coach today. You can never please everybody. Coach Price is an all time great. He will go down as one of the best in NC for sure.

Coach Price took the bulldogs from a season where they only won 2 games to 5 state championships... so I don't think anyone could've coached the bulldogs ... maybe he had an advantage but not anyone could do it... now he takes over a St James teams who didn't win a game last year... so he can't be scared of a challenge.... we'll see how this works out

It's all about them $$$ and who could blame him. He qualifies for retirement in state of NC and because he left the state he can coach/teach in SC and continue to draw retirement from the state of NC. With all said in done he may be making 6 figures a year with both incomes combined plus he is now living at/near the beach. He is a good coach, and WRH was doing great under him, but $$$ talked so Joey Walked lol.

Don't think money was a factor just looking for a new challenge . Although money does talk . I think he was just wanting to do something different sometimes programs get use to winning and coaches run there course there .Prob just time to move on ..I think his son is his OC wonder if he's moving with him as well
