The ACC is pretty stable and the only chance of instability there is the Big East pulling a basketball school out, but that won't happen since the Big East is already heavy with basketball only teams. I suppose if half the Big East breaks off to form their own basketball conference, they will raid the ACC, but this will not happen so long as the Big East is hailed as the king of basketball conferences. More likely is that the ACC will once again raid the Big East when the Super Conference "Judgement Day" happens. The only alternative is to go west. The Big 12 is ripe for the picking and there are some great teams available (A&M, OU, OSU, and Mizzou would be an excellent addition). I don't think any Big East team would be worth getting either.<div>
</div><div>I'm still skeptical over the whole concept of the super conference. A 14 team super conference isn't too bad; you just add an additional divisional game each year and go an extra year between inter-divisional opponents compared to the current scheduling. You also lose a non-conference game. However, a 16 team conference would require either going to a 10 game conference schedule, eliminating a inter-divisional game (meaning you can go 12 years between playing an east team assuming you keep a permanent rival), or go to a system of four 4-team pods where the pods are paired up for two years and you have permanent inter-pod rivalries. The only problem with this is that the couple years when the easternmost teams are paired with the westernmost teams, you have a lot of long-distance traveling.</div>
