You realize Alex smith was leading the league in QB rating when he got Wally pip'd? I'm not saying that he should be starting over kaepernick given what we've seen the 2nd half out of kaepernick, but lets not act like smith was pulling a Jamarcus Russell out there. You can praise kaepernick without wrongly bashing smith.
