You guys do understand that if Flood gets fired then Sneed, Russo and Pollock are most likely gone, right? You have to include that in your calculus.

Real, of course. But we went with Flood originally, a very high risk move, in a short-term attempt to retain our highest rated recruiting class and were successful in doing so (great assist from TP along the way). To retain him so that Sneed, Russo, and Pollock come here is very short sighted, at least in my opinion. If we make a change, it is almost a certainty that we end up with a lost class in 2016. To salvage anything would require pulling the trigger immediately after the last game and bringing in a charismatic new coach (in no way a certainty for RU). The team played well against MSU and I like our chances against Indy this weekend, but we are not bowling this year. A loss this weekend might be the last straw for the current regime.

Gary and him will likely be committing to Michigan. Can't really fault them for choosing Michigan over RU to be honest. Better coaching, facilities, academics, tradition and fanbase.
Others are calling you names, saying that you suck etc. Well I'm going to do it
another way, I'm going to break it down step by step, ok? ready?
1. Coaching, Hmmm can't ague with that.
2. Facilities, wellll ah, crap, can't argue with that one.
3. Academics can't disprove that one either.
4. Tradition, shisck can't argue that point.
5. Fan base, ah, hmm welll, someday we might bring 100,000 fans to a game too.

If he wants to be another 4 or 5 star recruit who wants to be among 3 or 4 others at his poisiton who were pretty much the same in HS, then he should go to Mich or OSU. RU can offer him ..at least potentially extensive playing time (If he is good enough), good school, big conference and big stage. Close to home where family and friends can easily watch him play in person.

If you follow Walker's situation, your last line is NOT a positive factor for this particular kid.

Sure the new HC would have to "re-recruit" these players heavily if Flood was let go but I"m willing to bet that at least one or two of Pollack/Sneed/Russo/Renee would stay around if the hire is a dynamic recruiter with a vision/plan. If that coach is not a dynamic recruiter who can sell their vision then we have a problem and it will not just be for 2016.

It's not insignificant that I didn't mention Rene.

Immediate thought -- no way this kid comes to Rutgers. Coach doesn't know how to stain. Or is it Coach is stained? No wait, Coach has stains? No, No, No, that can't be it. I get stain at Home Depot? I don't know, why, just something about that stain thing.

Miami fans have been flying planes over various practices/games with a banner that reads "FIRE GOLDEN." You think fans across the country are out there accepting bad/mediocre results? People want whats best for the program. That doesn't always mean spewing sunshine.

They aren't flying banners saying, "GO TO MICHIGAN!"
Or, "GO TO FSU!!"

Good question, trumpet. In my view, some reasons I would not recommend Rutgers is it has an administration that considers FB (maybe all sports) an evil; a (hopefully only) small but vocal faculty that is anti FB; a local media that is anti-Rutgers in all aspects of the school (not just sports and FB). A relatively inexperienced and unproven coaching staff (I know we've sent a lot of kids to the pros, but that was under a completely different Coach, AD, Administration).

I would question whether my son would want to be subjected to all the distractions that seem to be constantly present In the Athletic Dept. I'm talking Mulcahy, Pernetti, Hermann, Rice, Hill, Flood, player arrests, etc. I'm sure I'm missing some others.

If you need to play for a NC, RU is probably not for you. It may change in the future, but for now... Everyone wants to play for a winner, but half the football teams are losers. We've been pretty good at winning the last decade, But not @ the level many 4*and 5*s want.

Hey, I believe RU has some serious positives. I've always been proud of the way our athletes (in all sports) sound when giving interviews, speaking, and have had success after their playing careers. Especially compared to so many other schools that really don't give a damn about their student-athletes' education.

I think the facilities (FB) are very good, the smallish fan base is rabid. The FB 'family' atmosphere is wonderful (though I don't really know how it compares to other schools). Academics and support are first rate. While the APR has softened as of late, the story has not been adequately told. It should be shouted from the mountaintops. As an Aggie, I always loved the campuses (sp?).

Look, RU is perfect for some athletes. It's the exact opposite of what others want. There are some kids that RU automatically has a lock on, more others they have no shot at (now). It depends on what they want, and can they be convinced that Rutgers can provide it? Better than another school.
FYI, although Rutgers football APR ranking has declined lately the actual APR performance the past 3 seasons has improved and is at an all time high..

I'm sure a poster will be glad to inform us if a Nit player checked Flood's underwear to make sure he has stain and will be the first to let us know if Kyle's stain smells

So basically you're saying if he wants to be a big fish in a small pond come to RU. If you want to be a big fish in a big pond go to Michigan where it'll be more off a challenge... That doesn't put RU in a positive light...
We're swimming in the same pond now....

Why are you people getting all over Blitz? He's not saying anything that isn't true. (Well, maybe academics, but i really don't know). Granted, he didn't mentioned the positives of coming to RU, but that wasn't his point. Trumpet mentioned a lot of solid points to come to RU, but, be honest: If you had a son like Gary, where would you REALLY want him to go? Where do you REALLY think would be best for HIM?

Nothing really looking back at it. I learned a lot of tough lessons at RU that I am better for having gone through it. I made a lot off dumb decisions in college. But I guess it was a learning experience. I just think a full ride to Michigan is a much better gamble than a full ride to RU both on the field and off the field.
Still making stupid mistakes.

Doesn't Ohio State match or exceed Michigan in several of those categories? So, why switch?
